1. OCP Ecuador S.A. is a consortium formed by several multinational companies
aiming the construction and operation of the second oil pipeline in Ecuador.
The 560 km. Heavy Crude Oil Pipeline (OCP), is the unique net in the country that
transports heavy crude oil with API grades from 18 to 24.
The installations of the OCP, that begins its operations in the year 2003, are the
following:
• Five stations: Amazonas, Cayagama, Sardinas, Páramo, Chiquilpe and
Puerto Quito.
• The OCP Maritime Terminal.
Challenges
The main priority of the OCP is reaching a high level of security in the operation of
the pipeline in order to safeguard the integrity of people and environment.
