This document summarizes an analysis of the Global Terrorism Dataset which contains over 135 data fields and 181,000 entries on terrorist attacks from 1970 to 2017. Visualizations were created using Plotly to show trends in Asia and Europe by attack and target type, top ranked countries and cities, regions and weapons. Correlation heatmaps revealed relationships between variables like suicide attacks and ransom amounts paid. Histograms showed which regions and attack types were most prevalent while boxplots illustrated trends in weapon types by region. The full Jupyter notebook with the analysis is available on GitHub.

• Weapon type 7 = Fake weapons with least kills

• Region 6 (South Asia) and 10 (Middle East &
North Africa) = most sensitive.
• Region 4 (East Asia) = least sensitive.
• Attack type 3 (Bombing / Explosion) = most
prevalent.
• Attack type (Hijacking) = least prevalent.

• Weapon type 2 = Chemical, Prevalent in region 6,
i.e., South Asia
• Weapon type 9 = Melee, Prevalent in region 8,
i.e., Western Europe
