• As president of Health Mate, Inc., Dr. Sandra Schiff
draws from 30 years of education and experience to
provide executive, leadership, transition, and
parenting coaching and training. Dr. Sandra Schiff is
also an adjunct faculty member at her alma mater,
Wayne State University, nationally renowned for its
commitment to youth in Detroit.
Part of the Wayne State University Center for
Excellence and Equity in Mathematics, Math Corps
was recognized with the New York Life Foundation's
Excellence in Summer Learning Award, along with
three other programs.

3. Wayne State University
• Founded in 1991, Math Corps is an academic
and mentoring program for sixth- through 12th-
grade Detroit Public School students. Designed
as part of a series of programs to help students
from underrepresented groups achieve success
in their educations, Math Corps features year-
round programs, a summer camp, and
enrichment courses. Since its inception, it has
helped thousands of Detroit students graduate
from high school and continue to college.
