Hydra Energy is a specialist in small-field oil and gas developments targeting the production of hydrocarbons.
 Studies engineering drawings and visits sites to become familiarized with work requirements and the general layout of the
facilities, especially DCS and PLC systems, ESD systems and F&G systems and their computers, process instrumentation in
plant and field and plant analysers.
 Ensures that all instrumentation and control systems drawings, standards, specifications, manuals and data books are kept

Project: Pearl GTL
Construction of the world's largest gas to liquids (GTL) plant, Pearl GTL in Qatar, is a major step towards meeting the world’s
growing demand for cleaner energy.
The drive is on to make tomorrow's transport fuels and lubricants on a large scale from clean-burning natural gas. Construction
of the world's largest gas to liquids (GTL) plant, Pearl GTL in Qatar, is a major step towards meeting the world’s growing
demand for cleaner energy.
The plant, a joint development by Qatar Petroleum and Shell, will process about three billion barrels-of-oil-equivalent over its
lifetime from the world’s largest single non-associated gas field, the North Field, which stretches from Qatar’s coast out into the
Gulf. The North Field contains more than 900 trillion cubic feet of gas, about 15% of worldwide gas resources.*
Pearl GTL will produce cleaner-burning diesel and kerosene, base oils for top-tier lubricants, a chemical feedstock called
naphtha, which is used to make plastics, and normal paraffin, which is used to produce detergents.
It will produce enough fuel to fill over 160,000 cars a day and enough synthetic base oil each year to make lubricants for more
than 225 million cars.

On a total project land area of 1 million m², the construction comprised of eleven parcels (groups of buildings) on a turnkey
bases, while the total built-up area amounted to 200 thousand m². Each building consists of a basement, ground & 3 floors.
The buildings consists of isolated RC foundation, RC concrete skeleton & very high-standard finishing such as mechanical fix
stone façades & internal finishing with marble, ceramic & gypsum boards. The electro mechanical works consists of central
HVAC connected to a central chilled water plant, plumbing, fire-fighting system, MV, LV system including transformers MRU,

crossing details, electrical power cable block diagrams and the relevant power installation details.
 Designed all detailed drawings concerning lighting activities. This included lighting layouts, lighting distribution schedules,
lighting block diagrams, lighting elevation drawings and the relevant lighting installation details.
 Designed all detailed drawings concerning earthing activities. This included earthing layouts, lightning protection layouts
and the relevant earthing installation details.
 Designed all detailed drawings concerning substations. This included substation equipment layouts, substation cable
routing drawings, substation cable routing details and substation elevation drawings
 Designed all drawings associated with the one line diagrams. This included key one line diagrams, elementary one line
diagrams and detailed protection/metering one line diagrams.
 Designed the hazardous area classification drawings for the proper selection of the electrical equipment.

 Interpretation of Client specifications and selection optimization of technology fit for purpose
 Preparation of detailed design drawings for Instrumentation, control, shutdown, fire & gas and telecom systems
 Preparation of specifications for electrical switchgears, control panels, VFDs, UPS, MCCs and Distribution boards
 Preparation of specifications for electrical and instrument bulk items
 Preparation of load lists and data sheets
