the Billing Wizard guides the
user through an intuitive process
during which they can make decisions
as to the WIP, disbursements (including
those anticipated), and expenses that are
to be included on the bill. For those firms
with a need to generate large numbers of
bills based on definable criteria and or
at set times in the month, P4W can
be configured to automate these
processes.
Time is recorded automatically
when actions are carried out on the
case including document, email, and
form production. On non-standard
tasks time is recorded either as a pre-
determined unit or by using the timer
function.
The lawyer can then contact
the enquirer to gain further
information, send further
details and or a quote for the
services required using the case
management system.
Once the prospective client
accepts the quote and confirms
they wish to proceed with the case, an
automated process then converts the
prospect to a client, invokes the inbuilt
conflict and AML checks, and creates
the matter.
Rules can be set by
the firm to ensure that
incoming and outgoing monies
are subjected to appropriate checks
and approvals. Requests for funds can
be raised on an ad hoc basis or linked to
a standard step in the case file. Ultimate
authorisation rests with the accounts
team whilst interim approval can
be required if a posting request
triggers one of the applicable
practice rules.
The billing process can be
tailored to your firm’s needs. For
work being charged either as a fixed
fee or the current value of work on
the file, our Quick Bill function enables
the bill to be drafted and submitted
for approval via a single click in the
case file.
When the case is finished, the

access to the Webshare portal. Using
Webshare, the client can see the most
recent data and documents that are
