organic skincare line born out of a
personal need for a thoughtfully
simple and safe beauty routine.
Violets’ small-batch products do
not contain parabens, sulfates,
synthetic fragrances, or other
damaging toxins, providing you
with a healthy, pure skincare
regimen.
Our philosophy is that keeping
skincare basic is best; for this
reason, we use the finest essential
oils, and other ecologically-sound,
and toxin-free ingredients to
carefully formulate good-for-you
and the environment products.

philosophy that skincare
does not have to be
complicated, in fact,
keeping it basic is best.
Violets Are Blue was created out
of a personal need for skincare
that is sincerely natural, safe for
the body and the environment.
In 2011, Violets’ founder, Cynthia
Besteman received a shocking
breast cancer diagnosis. She
believed she had led a healthful
life, so she sought out to learn the
truth about toxins in our
environment. After learning about
the way our bodies can manifest
problems as a result of our
lifestyles and the products we
use, Cynthia cleared her
household of any possible
pollutants and switched over to a
purely organic lifestyle. She was
shocked by the mislabeling of
skincare and beauty products
that were classified “organic” or
“natural,” they typically contained
parabens, sulfates, and other
chemicals known to work as
endocrine disruptors linked to
cancer and reproductive
concerns.
After undergoing treatment,
Cynthia took her newfound love
of crafting skincare products for
herself, family, and friends and
established Violets Are Blue in
2013. She fused her knowledge
and passion for naturally-derived
skincare ingredients to formulate
a consciously produced line of
products - each one a labor of
love. Violets Are Blue operates
under the philosophy that
skincare does not have to be
complicated, in fact, keeping it

Deodorant
Our aluminum and
alcohol-free, roll-on
deodorant is meticulously
formulated with six essential
oils that assist in

delicate blend of
Lemongrass and Tea Tree it
is naturally- perfumed. The

Cynthia Besteman
Founder, Violets are Blue
Born in Seattle, Cynthia first
landed in New York City
determined to to find her way as
an actress, after completing a
major in theater at the University
of Oregon. She worked on
Broadway and off before
checking out the real estate scene
and quickly becoming one of the
top brokers in her office. After
receiving a breast cancer
diagnosis in 2011, Cynthia’s
successful career in the cutthroat
world of New York City real estate
came to a skidding halt.
While undergoing treatment, one
of her first actions was to toss out
all beauty products containing
unsafe chemicals and synthetic
fragrances, leaving her medicine
cabinet bare. She dove into the
world of natural skincare, learning
everything she could about
essential oils, and other natural
ingredients that work effectively
to nourish, cleanse, and hydrate
without causing harm. Cynthia
learned that there are key
botanicals and herbs that can
alleviate and treat problems for
any skin type or age. In 2013
Violets Are Blue was founded on
the principle that a simplified,
natural approach to a woman’s
beauty routine is best.
In addition to developing new
products for the Signature and
Beloved lines, Cynthia provides
patients at the Mt. Sinai Dubin
Breast Center in NYC with a
gifted package of Beloved
products upon their first day of
chemotherapy. She lives on the
Upper West Side of Manhattan
with David, her partner of 14
years, and in her spare time plays
a mean game of pickleball.

at this year’s Indie Beauty Expo
and named a top pick by xoVain
beauty blog, as well as featured in
the 2015 Holiday Issue of Organic
Spa Magazine.

All prices are listed in US dollars, and authorized retailers will
receive 50% off the MSRP, plus the cost of shipping. Prices are

We cover the cost of postal insurance for any shipments made

Opening Orders
A minimum order of 10 items or $200 is required on opening
orders. Initial orders must be paid for up front before items are
shipped out. We will contact you with your order total and a
digital invoice.
Re-Orders
No minimum order is required for re-orders. Any re-order must
be paid for within 30 days of the invoice date. Late payments are
subject to a 10% late fee for every 30 days past due.
Changes to Orders
Any changes or cancellation to orders must be emailed to

their skin will change dramatically as
