2. The National Football League (NFL) is a professional American
football league consisting of 32 teams, divided equally between
the National Football Conference (NFC) and the American Football
Conference (AFC).
The NFL is one of the four major professional sports leaguesin
North America, and the highest professional level of American football
in the world.
The NFL's 17-week regular season runs from the week after Labor
Day to the week after Christmas, with each team playing sixteen games
and having one bye week.
3. How Many Players are on a Soccer Team?
The number of players for a regulation
football game is determined by FIFA rules
(A). There are different number of players
for kids’ and youth soccer
(B), indoor soccer
(C), fusil
(D), beach soccer
(E), and Paralympics football
4. Football pitch
A football pitch (also known as a football fieldor soccer
field) is the playing surface for the game of football made of
turf. Its dimensions and markings are defined by Law 1 of
the Laws of the Game, "The Field of Play".
All line markings on the pitch form part of the area which
they define. For example, a ball on or above the touchline is
still on the field of play; a ball on the line of the goal area is
in the goal area; and a foul committed over the 16.5-metre
(18-yard) line has occurred in the penalty area.
5. Objective:
To score more points than the opposing team
by the end of the alloted time.
Basics:
There are two 11-person teams that play against
each other throughout the game.
The game lasts for 60 minutes, split into four
quarters of 15 minutes each.
At the end of the 1st half or the 2nd quarter, there
is a break, and the game continues after about 15-
20 minutes (may be longer if there is a special half-
time show).
6. The primary objective of one team (the offense) is to
take the ball and try to advance it (by either passing the
ball or running with the ball) to the opposing team's end
zone, while the other team's (the defense) objective is to
try and stop the advancing team.
If the offense is successful and a player carries the ball
into the end zone, they score a touchdown. The two teams
take turns between playing the offensive or defensive
roles.
7. Football has become a vital instrument for hundreds of social
development programmers run by private and community-based
organization around the world.
These programmers are providing children and young people
with valuable tools that make a difference to their lives, while
contributing to positive social development on a global scale by
addressing the most pressing issues in each community.
8. FIFA World Cup
The FIFA World Cup, often simply called the World Cup,
is an international association football competition contested by
the senior men's national teams of the members of Federation
International de Football Association (FIFA), the sport's global
governing body.
The championship has been awarded every four years since
the inaugural tournament in 1930, except in 1942 and 1946 when
it was not held because of the Second World War. The current
champion is Germany, which won its fourth title at the2014
tournament in Brazil.
9. Referee (association football)
In association football, the referee is the person responsible for enforcing
the Laws of the Game during the course of a match. He or she is the final
decision-making authority on all facts connected with play, and is the only
official on the pitch with the authority to start and stop play and impose
disciplinary action against players during a match.
At most levels of play the referee is assisted by two assistant
referees (formerly known as linesmen), who are empowered to advise the referee
in certain situations such as the ball leaving play or infringements of the Laws of
the Game occurring out of the view of the referee; however, the assistant
referees' decisions are not binding and the referee has authority to overrule an
assistant referee.
