• 700 – 1200 words;
• an expansion on the research you have already done;
• in the genre of ‘popular research communication’;
• written in Word, but put on blog (with appropriate
hyperlinking and images);
• will also be put through PaperRater.
• Due Tuesday, May 2nd by 18:00. Class on this day is
optional (I will be in class for consultations.)
• Your work will be graded on genre appropriateness,
effective use of images and hyperlinking, and general
care in vocabulary, grammar, punctuation, and style.

  • 2. Today’s agenda • Continue discussion around the importance of the notion of “position” in academic essay writing. • Begin redraft of your first writing sample.
  • 9. Midterm • 700 – 1200 words; • an expansion on the research you have already done; • in the genre of ‘popular research communication’; • written in Word, but put on blog (with appropriate hyperlinking and images); • will also be put through PaperRater. • Due Tuesday, May 2nd by 18:00. Class on this day is optional (I will be in class for consultations.) • Your work will be graded on genre appropriateness, effective use of images and hyperlinking, and general care in vocabulary, grammar, punctuation, and style.
