  2. 2. Strong AI Narrow AI What is AI • Artificial intelligence means creating computing systems that have the ability to perform tasks like humans or even better than humans. • It is a field of computer science that develops machines or software having human intelligence such as speech recognition, decision making, and translation abilities. Doesn’t have any intelligence or self awareness. Limited perspectives and learnings. Dedicated for a task Machine think like a human by its own. Currently there is no system exists Lot of research going on this area. Source: https://mapr.com C a t e g o r i e s o f A I Super AI Under Research Nick Bostrom describes it, this is “an intellect that is much smarter than the best human brains in practically every field, including scientific creativity, general wisdom, and social skills.”

  5. 5. Turing Test • The Turing Test, named for the British mathematician Alan Turing. • It is designed to check whether the machine can think like human. • Eugene Goostman, which simulates a 13-year-old Ukrainian boy, is said to have passed the Turing test • It is a method of inquiry in artificial intelligence (AI) for determining whether or not a computer is capable of thinking like a human being. Turing Test may hold great possibilities of measuring general intelligence, but scientific community focuses more on objective ways to measure AI in very specific settings, such as computer vision tasks, voice recognition and so forth
  6. 6. 6 What is AI, ML, DL & Cognitive Computing Cognitive Computing This is a new type of computing with the goal of more accurate models of how the human brain/mind senses, reasons and responds. Mimics the functioning of human brain and helps to improve human decision making ML AI DL
  7. 7. Cognitive computing (CC) Simulation of human thought processes in a computer model. Interactive decision making and reasoning on deep domain models Using self-learning algorithms that use data mining, pattern recognition and natural language processing. The computer can mimic the way the human brain works. Using Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning tools. 7
