PM Community of Practice
A foundation of the Project Management Centre of Excellence is the
Project Management Community of Practice (PMCoP). Members of
the CoP share information and provide a repository of payload
knowledge from which the entire project management community
across the public service to draw upon. In partnership with the BC
Public Service Agency, members of CoP deliver project
management training to government employees based on a
common government methodology.

Editor's Notes
We are well positioned to leverage the work of a volunteer project management community of practice to achieve significant, tangible and intangible results.
<number>
<number>
Decreased reliance on external contracted project management resources
We are currently relying on external resources to manage many of our projects and lose valuable cooperate knowledge with each project
Demonstrated value and managed spend for $ spent on external resources
We have no set fee structure and there is a wide range of fees for similar services
We often pay excessive PM fees for administrative work such as preparing PP presentations, creating status reports, etc.
Increased internal project management capacity and employee opportunities
We need to create internal PM capacity now and in the future as we move to an ever increasing projectized environment and business practice to achieve our corporate objectives
Increased Project Management maturity across government
Because advancing maturity is consistent with PM that is about achieving repeatable project successes
We can successfully address these needs thru 3 strategies
<number>
In order to focus on the strategies and this Service Model, PMCOE has develop 3 Service Delivery areas . .. .next 3 slides
In addition, this community of practice holds quarterly best practice forums and monthly businesses meetings. You can contact one of the following business sub-committee leads to become involved in an area of your interest.
If network access is not available to showcase the methodology from the web, use slides 11-13 or best fit of just one of the slides (low, med, high) to meet the needs of the audience.
Do not release slides 15-17 ( these are the ones visually describing PM as a skill, PM as Practitioners and PS training) as handouts as these are still in development
Use only as describing the theme, do not provide as hands outs given they are in development.
