Robotic CABG patients who received transfusions were more likely to have unmet expectations about recovery time and lower satisfaction scores. Using topical hemostatics during robotic CABG reduced transfusions and led to higher patient satisfaction and fewer patients with unmet expectations about recovery compared to controls. Surgeons experience high stress during robotic cardiac surgery. Managing bleeding and expectations may improve the patient experience with robotic CABG.
