less information about OPEN ACCESS in
following Asian Countries
• Timor-Leste
• Turkmenistan
• Tajikistan
• Syria
• North Korea
• Reason may be – Language , Political issues or
Less Awareness of OA
Study based on simple Google search - country name and open access term

SOWT ANALYSIS OPEN ACCESS ASIA
Strength-
Many Asian countries are aware about Open Access, Open Data, form OA
Policy and advocate are working to spread OA in Asia.
Slowly people are getting know about the term through advocacy programs.
Weaknesses -
No funding available to do such programs many peoples are working as
volunteers to spread awareness in OA Asia.
Communication Gap, Decision makers are different and not much interested
in OA policy
Opportunities-
Unity in diversity -Instead of working individually if all Asian country OA
Advocators come to together many good decisions can be taken.
If get funding for OA workshop, Seminars Conferences a lot of changes can
be seen in Asian Society
