A group of friends sit in a classroom working, the room is
silent until one of them speaks up
MADDISON
Today has been so boring, actually this whole week has been
boring, everyday has been the same
WREN
yeah it has, but that's just university work, nothing
interesting happens in a classroom
MADDISON
we could do something interesting, go out and do something
WREN
Like what?
MADDISON
i'm not sure yet, go ask the rest of the group if they'd be
up for hanging out during the break we've got coming up, i'll
think of some ideas.
EXT. STREET-DAY
Wren is walking home with Elliot
WREN
Maddison has an idea to do something
during the break and wanted to know if
you'd be up for coming out with us
ELLIOT
it depends on what we'd be doing, i
don't want to waste my time off
hanging out with you all doing the
same boring routine we usually do when
we hang out
WREN
Maddison is thinking up some ideas,
once we know how many of us are going
out and once she thinks of something
we'll start making proper plans

Wren waves goodbye to Elliot as he steps into his house and
closes the door

Wren goes upstairs to their room and calls Maddison
after 4 rings Maddison answers the phone

i talked with Elliot, they aren't
going to agree to going with us until
they've heard some ideas
MADDISON
Elliot is always difficult, did you at
least talk to the others yet so we at
least have someone other than just you
and me wanting to do this
WREN
no, not yet, I haven't been able to
get a hold of any of them, just come
up with some ideas assuming everyone
will be up for it, we can tell them
all tomorrow during class and see what
they think of of it and who wants in
MADDISON
okay, i'll continue working on ideas,

Wren puts her phone on to charge and sits on her bed before
turning on the TV and watching something before drifting off
to sleep
INT. BEDROOM-DAY
Wren looks at her phone and realises the time, she quickly

Wren walks in and sits down with the group
RICK
Maddison tells us she's made a plan
for us all to hang out
ELLIOT
whats the idea then?
MADDISON
i said i wanted to do something
interesting, something that none of us
have done before, so i thought we
could go camping
RICK
i could go camping, sounds like fun
WREN
So we're agreed on going camping
ELLIOT
i guess i'll go, its not like anyone
has a better idea
MADDISON
i'll make the plans for next week then
CUTS TO THREE DAYS LATER
INT. SHOPPING CENTRE-DAY
Maddison and Wren are walking through the shopping centre
WREN
so what are we getting?
MADDISON
stuff for the camping trip, like tents
and sleeping bags, stuff like that
Maddison and Wren go through the shopping centre looking in
different stores, occasionally buying things they need

Maddison and Wren are on the bus travelling home
MADDISON
I think we should have everything we
need for this trip next week, so i'll
plan where we'll be going for the trip
and let all of you know once I've
worked everything out
WREN

Wren waves to Maddison as she get off the bus and goes inside
her house
THE NEXT DAY

Wren walks into class, everyone is already sat down looking
tired and bored, Wren sits down

Its the last day, finally some time
off after coming in day after day all
week
ELLIOT
we do still get weekends off
MADDISON
yeah but those 2 days never feel like
enough to do anything, except
recovering from the rough week
RICK
agreed, i can't wait to start our
break, just got to get through today
MADDISON
me and Wren already have everything
sorted for our trip, all we need is
food and water but we can get that on
the way there

up tonight and get everything ready
for tomorrow, we'll meet at Maddison's
house and he can lead us as to where
we'll be going

the group are walking out of class after a long day of uni
work

Elliot splits off with the group and walks ahead as if they
have somewhere to be
EXT. STREET-LATE AFTERNOON
Maddison, Wren and Rick are walking home together, Rick
splits away from the group
RICK
i'll see you two tomorrow, what time
are we meeting at yours Maddison?
MADDISON
i think probably twelve o'clock, maybe
twelve thirty as it gives everyone
time to get ready and get there
RICK
okay then, see you's later then
Rick goes into their house and closes the door, Maddison and
Wren continue walking together
EXT. STREET-EARLY EVENING
Wren is walking home alone after Maddison split off from
them, Wren turns around after getting the feeling of being
watched

Wren shrugs it off and continues walking home
wren goes inside her house and closes the door

Wren arrives at Maddison's house and sees her sat waiting
outside
Maddison stands up and walks towards Wren

its now one o'clock, i was beginning
to think no one was going to show
WREN
Really? i would've thought Rick or
Elliot would've shown up
MADDISON
Well Rick texted to say he'd be late,
but nothing from Elliot, i swear he
just shows whenever we like
WREN
relax, remember we planned this trip
to avoid stress, let's just wait a
little while, i'm sure they'll show up
soon

EXT. STREET, MADDISON'S HOUSE-LATE MORNING
Maddison and Wren look up to see Rick and Elliot walking up
the street
RICK
sorry we're late, took us a while to
pack everything
MADDISON

at least they're here now, we can get

the group starts walking towards the bus stop, once they

to go quickly, i'm getting sick of all
the walking
RICK
for once i agree with Elliot, i think
we are all tired and sick of the
excessive walking

since you're all complaining, i guess
we'll stop here and set up then, we'll
get the tents set up and then we can
relax and enjoy the next few days

we have our campsite set up and a fire
going, so far its been a good trip

documenting the trip for whatever
reason

Elliot gets up to walk away when loud rustling can be heard
from the bushes

what was that?

probably an animal, me and Wren heard
something earlier, like i said
earlier, we're in a forest, there's
going to be animals

i don't know, sounded too loud to be
any animals that could be in this area
WREN
that's what i thought when i heard the
twigs snapping earlier
MADDISON
for the last time, it's an animal,
we're deep in the forest, i did this
to get away from people and animals
tend to live in deep forests away from
people and main roads

if you're sure, i still don't like it

hear anything again

the group are sitting at the camp around the fire

i had my doubts but this trip has
actually been good, its been relaxing

forest

all won't shut up about people in the

RICK
no, you heard what Wren said, she
wants to be left alone, besides i
think her having some time away from

well you two do end up arguing almost

Wren, Rick and Elliot are sitting by the fire, still waiting
for Maddison to return

while and hope we run into her, she'll

the three walk through the forest still looking for Maddison

we've been looking for almost an hour
and we still haven't found her, maybe
we should head back
ELLIOT
if it were you, you'd want us to

except its dark and i'm getting a bad
feeling from this place

Elliot walks ahead as Wren and Rick walk back to the campsite
WREN
we made the right choice by going
back, right?
RICK
yeah, we looked long enough and its
late, it'll be dangerous for us to be
out any later with it being this late
and dark
WREN
we were out for almost an hour and we
didn't see any sign of Maddison, maybe
there is someone out here with us
RICK
i doubt it, who else would come out
here alone deep into a random forest
WREN
what if its another group
RICK
now you're just being paranoid
Wren and Rick continue to walk back to the camp when they
hear a scream, they run back into the forest and find Elliot
the three look down and see Maddison's body

this couldn't have been an animal, we
said someone else was out here and she
didn't believe, what do we do now
WREN
i don't know, its really dark, we only
found you because we followed the
noise, its too dark to see which way
to go to get back to the camp
RICK
can't we just keep walking until we
hit something
WREN
its best to stay here, its too dark
and we can get lost easily, that's not
a good idea even if there wasn't
someone trying to kill us
ELLIOT
but if we stay here, we're more likely
to get picked off, it'll be harder for
whoever this psychopath is to get us
if we're moving as i'm sure, they'll
have a hard time trying to track us in
this dark anyway
the group hear rustling in the bushes, Elliot freaks out and
runs off in the opposite direction of where the noise came
from
Wren and Rick chase after him, the killer walks back into the
cover of the bushes
Elliot continues running while Wren and Rick chase after him,
eventually Wren and Rick lose sight of Elliot
Elliot runs in the dark of the forest not knowing which way
hes meant to be going, he falls over and lands on his front,
he slowly gets up and looks in every direction, unsure of
which way to go
Elliot decides on a direction and starts slowly walking,
paranoid he jumps and looks around him after every subtle
noise made in the forest
not knowing whether or not the noises are animal or human
Elliot starts walking faster, trying to make it back to the
camp or at least find the others

Rick and Wren are walking in the dark looking for Elliot
whilst also looking over their shoulders for the killer that
almost led them to the same fate as Maddison
WREN
where do you think Elliot could be?
RICK
I don't know, its too dark to be able
to tell which direction is which and
even if we wanted to go back to the
camp we can't even follow the light of
the campfire, its probably went out by
now
WREN
then we won't head back to the camp
then, we need to keep looking for
Elliot before that psychopath does,
you saw what happened to Maddison, we
can't let that happen to any more of
us
RICK
but we could have something back at
the camp we could use against whoever
this guy is, i know we didn't exactly
bring weapons but we could find
something that could be useful
WREN
That could be a good idea and it would
probably be safer to wait at the camp,
if all of us keep moving in this dark
not only will we not find each other
but we run the risk of getting even
more lost, if that were possible
RICK
So lets go back to the camp the and
wait for Elliot then, we can also look
for stuff to use to at least defend
ourselves if we have to, we'll even
get the fire going so its easier for
Elliot to find us
Wren and Rick continue walking to make it back the the camp
and eventually find it

i'll look for some stuff we can use
Wren looks through the bags looking for something to be used,
she looks up when she hears a noise and picks up a (insert
weapon) and slowly walks towards the source of the noise, she
sees a figure and swings for it, the figure stumbles
backwards and falls over, Wren sees that its Elliot
WREN
you're alive and you finally found us
ELLIOT
what the hell? you just came back here
instead of looking for me
RICK
what else were we going to do, its
pitch black and if we're all stumbling
in the dark we're going to get lost
and split up and i don't know if you
noticed but we could die by doing
that!
Rick and Elliot get into an argument and start shouting at
each other
WREN
stop it, you're going to attract
whoever that guy is chasing us
ELLIOT
i knew this was a bad idea, from the
beginning i said it was a waste of
time and i shouldn't have came along,
if you lot didn't pull me into this,
i'd be home, comfortable and not
getting chased by some maniac that
wants to kill us all!
WREN
its not like any of us knew we were
going to be hunted down by a crazy guy
that wants to kill us, its not our
fault, now stop shouting before you
get us all killed
RICK
the best thing we can do right now is
to hold out until morning, at least

no, i'll take first watch, i won't be
able to sleep right now anyways
Elliot walks ahead to keep watch over the camp
RICK
well, we wanted this trip to be
interesting, i guess we got what we
asked for
WREN
how can you joke about this? Maddison
is dead, we could be next, i wanted a
fun trip and document it so we can
revisit it, now it's probably going to
get confiscated by police for evidence
RICK
sorry for trying to keep the mood
light, we're all on edge right now, i
figured we needed to lighten things up

keeping things light, we need to take
this whole situation seriously or one
of us could be next

it was your and Maddison's idea to do
this whole camping thing, if you're
going to say that me keeping things
light will get us killed then i'm
blaming you for Maddison's death and
the possibility of each of our deaths
Wren goes silent for a few seconds before speaking up
WREN
you can't seriously blaming me for all this! you both agreed
and supported the plan as soon as it was mentioned! you are
just as guilty as you claim me and Maddison to be for this
entire mess!
Elliot hears the shouting and arguing, he starts walking back
towards the camp when he hears rustling in the bushes, he
walks towards the bushes to take a closer look
Elliot sees nothing and turns around to see the killer, the
killer slices open Elliot's throat with one quick slash of
the sickle in his hand
Elliot falls to his knees struggling to breathe, the killer
pushes him onto his back, pinning Elliot down with his foot
before putting the sickle in his head, killing him
Wren and Rick hears the noise coming from Elliot's direction,
they both start walking in that direction until they find
Elliot's body, they're both shocked and know the killer is
nearby
WREN
we need to get back to the camp, all
our stuff is there, its our best
chance
RICK
okay, let's go before he comes back

they start walking towards the camp when Wren feels a hand
grab her shoulder, the killer raises his arm to kill Wren
the killer is tackled and drops his weapon, while the killer
tries to kill Rick, Wren grabs the killers weapon and drives
it into his neck, the killer falls to the ground, bleeding
both Wren and Rick stand over the killers body looking down
at him
RICK
we did it, we killed him...we're safe
WREN
but he could still be alive
RICK
i doubt it, but let's not stay any
longer and find out
Wren and Rick start walking away from the body, the killer
sits up and grabs his weapon before grabbing Rick by the leg
and pulling him to the ground, the killer struggling to kill
Rick and Rick struggling to stop the killer killing him
Wren takes the opportunity to run away and get some distance
from her and the killer
both the killer and Rick are fighting to kill each other, the
killer slices Rick in the stomach with his weapon before
bringing down onto his shoulder before knocking him to the
ground, the killer then finishes him off with a blow to the
head, the killer stands up and begins walking off into the
direction of where Wren ran off in
Wren reaches the camp and frantically looks for something to
defend herself with, the killer quickly catches up with Wren,
Wren grabs a knife she found in one of the bags and stabs
attacks the killer, stabbing him in the leg to slow him down,
Wren starts running again, the killer pulls the knife out of
his leg and starts going after Wren again, keeping the knife
as his own new weapon
Wren gets some distance between her and the killer, she finds
a stick to use as a improvised weapon in case she needs to
attack the killer again, she keeps running hiding behind a
tree to catch her breath while the killer gains distance
the hears the movement and starts running towards Wren's
direction, the killer looks behind the tree and sees Wren
isn't there, the killer turns around and sees Wren who hits

the killer over the head with the stick stunning him, she
grabs the knife he dropped and slices him in the neck, the
killer falls down and Wren starts using the camera to beat
the killer to death, after the killer stops moving Wren drops
the camera and walks off
the killer opens his eyes revealing he's not dead
