1. Nevada Railroad Materials Inc. (NRM)
was founded by Bob Ollendick and Tom
Ollendick in 1975 and later incorporated
in 1993. NRM has more than 70+ years
combined experience in the railroad
business. Mr. Ollendick and NRM have
worked on rail projects for the Southern
Pacific Railroad through the merger and
continue to work with the Union Pacific
Railroad. NRM has grown from 10
employees in 1993 to over 150 today -
including multiple tie rehab facilities
across the country.
NRM specializes in tie rehab, rail take
ups and abandonments, pre-plating of
wood ties, and a multitude of other
services. We provide services to Rapid,
Mass, and Light Rail Transit agencies,
Contract Operators, Freight Railroads,
and Government Operations.

RIDE QUALITY MEASUREMENT
NRM has fully qualified FRA Part 213.7 Inspectors who
utilize a software based program provided by © dFuzion
to monitor and analyze ride quality from either a
passenger or freight car and/or locomotive/cab car. The
system uses an accelerometer and GPS to locate areas
with excessive vertical or lateral impacts. Field verification
is part of this service as well as reports and recommended
repairs.
TRACK INSPECTION
NRM provides track inspection services for Short Line,
Private Industry, Tourist, Class 1, and Light/Heavy Transit
Railroads. Our clients have a choice between paper based
inspections, or electronic service and a database
managed by NRM. Agencies who sub-contract their Right
of Way (ROW) maintenance services could utilize NRM for
internal compliance auditing.
SOGR ASSESSMENT AND TAM
NRM has trained staff who are able to work with our
clients to conduct quality State of Good Repair (SOGR)
Assessments and Transit Asset Management Inspections
(TAM). These assessments can be utilized to provide a
starting point for maintenance, as well as a comparison
after a pre-determined time frame. SOGR assessments
also allow our clients to properly allocate funds for
infrastructure life cycle enhancement.
