How to Back up Voice Memos from iPod touch to Computer
1. How to Back up Voice
Memos from iPod touch to
Computer
2. So I have an iPod touch 5 to record voice
memos for my lectures, and I want to transfer
these voice memos to my computer for a
backup because the iPod touch is out of
storage space. Is there any way possible to do
that? I need your help please, thanks in
advance.
Although iPod touch doesn’t provide
users a SIM slot, it is still popular thanks
to the powerful functions it has. The
Recorder app is mostly used by the iPod
touch users, and it allows users to record
long voice memos. But people will need
to back up voice memos from iPod touch
to computer regularly because of the
limited storage space of iPod touch.
3. As is known, iPod touch users are able to play voice
memos with iTunes easily. They only need to plug their
iPod touch into computer via USB, and then iTunes will
recognize the iPod touch. In the playlists of the iPod
touch, users will find a “Voice Memos” playlist, and they
can listen to the voice memos then. When users want to
save iPod touch voice memos on computer, they need
to use the backup function of iTunes. If you are not sure
how to do that, the following guidance can be helpful:
1. Start iTunes and go to “Edit > Preferences > Devices”,
and check “Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from
syncing automatically”.
2. Plug iPod touch into computer, and iTunes will launch.
If not, you should manually start it.
3. After iTunes recognized your iPod touch, click “File >
Devices > Back Up” at the upper left corner.
4. iTunes will create a backup of your iTunes to
computer.
4. The iPod touch backup is saved as a database on your
computer, and you are not able to view the contents on
your computer. But when you lost your voice memos,
you can restore your iPod touch with iTunes.
But if the users want to back up voice memos from iPod
touch to computer and then delete them, they won’t
want to use iTunes. At this moment, they can take
advantage of the third-party iPhone data recovery
software to finish the task. People are able to find many
data recovery programs for iOS devices on the Internet,
but I would like to introduce Leawo iOS Data Recovery
to you. This software is used for recovering deleted files
from iOS devices and iTunes backups, and it helps to
backup iPhone, iPad and iPod touch files to computer.
The following guidance will show you how to back up
voice memos from iPod touch to computer, and you are

5. STEP 1 Choose Recovery Mode
Run Leawo iOS Data Recovery on your computer, and you will see
two recovery modes. One is “Recover from iOS Device”, and the

connect iPod touch to computer with USB cable. The software will
recognize and analyze your iPod touch.
6. STEP 2 Select Voice Memos
After the analysis of the iPod touch, Leawo iOS Data Recovery will
scan the contents in your iPod touch. When the scan is finished,
choose “Voice Memos” in the left sidebar. Then check the voice
memos you want to back up, and click the “Recover” button at the
right bottom.
7. STEP 3 Choose Target Folder
After clicking the recover button, you will see a pop-up dialog. Click
“Open” in the dialog to choose a folder on your computer to save the
exported voice memos. Then click “Go” to start backing up voice
memos from iPod touch to computer.
8. When the backup process is done, you will get the voice
memos in the target folder. The voice memos will be
saved in .m4a files, and can be listened on your
computer with ease.
If you are using an iPod touch, Leawo iOS Data
Recovery helps to recover deleted files under DFU
