2. INTRODUCTION
Testicular torsion occurs when the testicle rotates on the
spermatic cord, which brings blood to the testicle from the
abdomen. If the testicle rotates several times, blood flow to it can
be entirely blocked, causing damage more quickly.

3. DEFINITION
“When the testicle rotates (testicular torsion), it twists the
cord supplying blood to the loose bag of skin (scrotum)
beneath the penis”

4. CAUSES:-
Testicle injury.
Infection
Clapper deformity
This anatomic abnormality present in Around 12% of males .
Vigorous activity

6. •Light headache
•Blood in the semen.
•Sweating
•Increased pulse.

7. DIAGNOSTIC EVALUATION:-
Physical examination.
Urinalysis
Doppler ultrasound of testicles.
Blood test

8. MANAGEMENT:-
•Pharmacological management-
Antibiotics drugs.
Anti-inflammatory drugs
Analgesics drugs

9. SURGICAL MANAGEMENT:-
•Testicle surgery- to restore blood supply to the testicles.
•Testicle removal –if testicle is damaged beyond repair.

11. NURSING MANAGEMENT:-
•Encourage patient to lie down as much as possible.
•Encourage to take proper diet.
•Instruct patient to wear jockey type underwear.
•Engaging in sexual intercourse too soon can be harmful to
recovery.
