2. After looking at a large range of fonts and choosing 9 potential fonts I decided I was
going to conduct a questionnaire and distribute it to my target audience (13 – 24 year
old girls). I decided to this as I wanted my audience to get the best and them helping
me decide was allowing them to participate. This enabled me to get my Target
audiences views on what they want/would like to see. The following was asked in my
Questionnaire
With this questionnaire you are given a sheet which shows different fonts I have thought
about using for my Promotional Package and to use on the CD Cover and the website.
The package is aimed to promote a 14 year old female pop/rock singer to 13 -24 year old
females. If you can please help by filling out this questionnaire I will find this useful in my
decision.
Does the use of certain fonts make you interested in buying a CD or viewing a
website?
Yes No
There are 9 Styles of Fonts which one do you most prefer?
.................................................................................................
Please explain why you like this style?
What Colour would you like to see used within both the CD and the Website?
3. Does the use of certain fonts make
you interested in buying a CD or
viewing a website?
From the results of the question I
have gathered that 50% of my
target audience aren’t interested in
the style of the CD Cover and the
website. They did comment and
most said its not about the CD
Cover or the Website, its about the
song itself.
However the other 50% are bothered what it displayed on both the CD Cover and
the website. They also commented that if they have never heard the song and
they come across an attractive CD Cover/Website it may lead to them buying the
CD or the song.
From these results I can conclude that it would be safe for me to keep my target
audience in the loop of my promotional package after all its them who will be
buying it.
4. There are 9 Styles of Fonts which one
do you most prefer?/ Please explain
why?
The graph shows how much % of
my target audience liked a certain
font, Style 7 which is Vivaldi
became the most popular With
Style 8 Second. As stated I initially
wanted 2 style of fonts, 1 being
used for the Artist name and
another for the CD name.
Some of the audience asked if they could have a look at the lyrics to help them
decide. They commented that the 2 fonts go with the Artists age but also goes with
the song. One person had stated to use Style 8 for the artists name while using
Style 7 for the CD Name.
From this I can conclude that maybe using the Style 7 and 8 will attract my target
audience
5. Conclusion
From the questionnaire results I have gathered knowledge on what I
can use for my designed CD Cover, the results helped me decide.
The results to question 1 have told me that even though it was 50/50
that I must use some sort of house style for the promotional
package.
I have also come to the conclusion that Century Gothic and Vivaldi will
be used as font styles within the promotional package to contrast
the Artists age and the song.
