3. Early Life
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel the iron-man of India was
born on 31st October, 1875, in a small village
in Nadiad. His father Jhaverbhai Patel was a
simple farmer and mother Laad Bai was a simple
lady. From his childhood itself, Patel was a very
hard-working individual.
They lived in the village of Karamsad, in the Kheda
district of the Bombay Presidency.
4. Social Life
He started his practice in Ahmedabad and soon he became
aware of the local life, and people's problems.
He became an extremely popular person and he got elected in
the Municipal Corportaion in 1917.
Gandhiji gave a lecture at a place in Ahmedabad where Patel
heard him and was very impressed and started actively
participating in the freedom movement.
The British government declared to confiscate all the lands of
farmers.
5. •He forced the British government to amend the
rules. He brought together the farmers and
encouraged them and hence got the title of
'Sardar' and thus became famous.
6. Contibution To Mother Land
• During a fight for freedom Sardar Patel lest his
profession of lawyer and joined freedom movement.
• For freedom of motherland he give up his flourishing
career.
• After freedom he was elected as deputy prime
minister of India.
• Being home minister he lived very simple life.
7. Contribution After Independence
• After independence there were nearly 562
princely states in India and to join them
was a very difficult task.
• Sardar Patel effectively integrated those
princely states with his diplomatic skills.
• Sardar Patel accomplish the huge work of
merging India without shedding any single
drop of blood.
9. Why as a role model?
• He had the perseverance to accomplish
his goal to see the better India
• He doesn’t give up anything which he fails
he repeat that act until he gets success
• Sardar was very frank person if he doesn’t
like anything he just leave that he doesn’t
touch that again.
