Contextualized Guidelines on the conduct of Division
Sports Activities
1. Athletes must have undergone the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and found
to be physically fit in joining sports activities;
2. Age requirement for athletes are the following:
Elementary: Born July 1, 2010
Secondary : Born July 1, 2005
3. Schools shall organize their sporting events based on their strengths and
available resources such as sports equipment, trainers and qualified
coaches including playing/training grounds;
4. For team events, a Winner-Take-All Policy shall be implemented in all
levels of sports competition; (Athletes must be enrolled in one school only)
5. For individual and dual events, athletes are required to meet the record
standard during 2019 Palarong Panlalawigan for them to qualify for the 2023
Division Athletic Meet;
6. Preparations including the training of athletes shall be done after class
hours or during weekends to avoid disruption of classes as stipulated in
DepEd Order No. 34, s. 2022;
7. Adherence to the provisions of DepEd Order no. 9. S. 2005 (Instituting
Measures to Increase Engaged Time-On-Task and Ensuring Compliance
Therewith) and Child Protection Policy is hereby enforced during the
preparations and practices of student-athletes and game proper.
8. Ensure the presence of Medical team and DRRM personnel in all levels of
sports activities;
9. Extravagant opening program is strongly discouraged;
10. All sporting events shall be played in accordance with the rules and
regulations set by the Department of Education.
Division Refresher Course for Coaches and Technical

Objective(s) / Outcome(s)
Terminal Objective
The key objective of this training is to organize a pool of trainers and
coaches who will manage/facilitate division, district and school sports
activities.
Enabling Objectives
The 3-day training aims to achieve the following:
1. To provide a comprehensive understanding and updates on the different
rules in the conduct of the different sporting events;
2. To capacitate potential teachers to become effective coaches and trainers
in sports;
3. To equip teachers with appropriate knowledge and enhance their skills
with the basic principles in the various sporting events; and
4. To develop potential coaches to become technical and officiating officials
during sports meets.
