  3. 3. Why is genre important to film producers?Genre is important to them so they can categorize theirfilm and sell it to the right audience. If they don’tknow what genre their film falls into then they can’tstart the selling processWhen they know what genre it is they can make surethe film follows the codes and conventions of thatparticular genre and make sure it is as appealing aspossible to their target audience.
  4. 4. Why is genre important to film audiences?Genre is important to them so they can easily identifywhether they will like the film and make the instantdecision of whether going to see it or not.If the film producer doesn’t give their film a genre thenit won’t sell well to the audience as they can’t decipherwhether they will like it or not.
  5. 5. GenreGenre is the repetition and variation of familiarconventions but it is not just a simple means oflabeling or classifying films. Genres change over timeand hybrids emerge.Hybrids are where two or more genres collide togetherto create a different type of film but just as enjoyable.
