1. Architecture and Engineering Firm Needs to Establish Their IT Strategy
Situation
A major Canadian Architecture and Engineering firm was concerned that their Information Technology platform,
systems and people had not kept pace with the rapidly changing marketplace.

Premier Alliance was chosen by this Firm, in a competitive situation, to bring our World Class expertise to look at all
aspects of the Company’s Information Systems. We were the only Firm to be able to deliver in all areas of concern;
including – people, process, technology and controls. Our experience helped them to determine where they are
relative to the rest of their industry and to establish a strategic direction.
Premier Alliance Delivery
Premier Alliance was engaged for a three phased project. In our initial phase we reviewed their current IT
environment from all angles and compared their capabilities to world class firms. We gathered both internal and
external viewpoints and presented to Senior Management a comprehensive report of the status of Information
Technology within their Company. The systems analyzed included both administrative and operational (i.e. design).
Our Phase 2 work is to help them develop a comprehensive IT Strategy and the corresponding organization structure
to support the strategy. The new IT Strategy will look out over a 3 year horizon and establish to roadmap to correct
current issues and address emerging technologies.
Our Phase 3 work will address the controls and governance of the Information Systems. We will analyze the
operational procedures and responsibilities to determine what controls need to be in place to assure management
that the oversight and governance will meet their needs.
