26. On analysing the composition of Kottumchukkadi taila, it is
kapha vata shamaka. Many of the drugs produce lekhaniya,
shothahara and shoolahara karma. Lashuna also attributes the
property of balya and with its rasayana property it restores the cellular
integrity. In modern parlance, the anti-inflammatory action of vacha,
kushta and shigru is reported. The analgesic action of vacha, lashuna
and chincha patra rasa has been reported.
Kottumchukkadi taila which is having drugs performing
lekhaniya, shophahara and shoolahara and deepana karma help in
removing the kapha aavarana at manibandha and also help in
pacifying vata.
27. The dosha dominance in Carpel Tunnel Syndrome is
kapha vaata and taila has samyoga samskara property. It is
processed with shophahara, lekhaniya and shoolahara
dravyas.
On administering this taila as shamana snehapana, the
sneha properties like teekshna, sookshma, sara, vyavaayi
guna facilitate the transport of shophahara, shoolahara and
lekhaniya properties to madhyama roga marga which fecilitate
relieving the kapha association and help in pacifying vata.
Conclusion : In present clinical trial, shamana snehapana with
Kottamchukkadi taila is proved to be safe and effective in all 3

30. On analytical study of trividha paaka of Kottamchukkadi Taila, the loss
on drying, iodine value and acid value were found to be less in khara
paaka indicating fewer chances of early rancidity whereas
Saponification value and Peroxide value were higher in mrdu paaka
indicating better penetration in gastric mucosa when used for
Snehapaana (internal administration of taila). On experimental study,
mrdu, madhyama and khara paaka showed significant difference in
molecular level, concentration of active ingredients and penetration co-
efficient of active ingredients.
31. CONCLUSION
Kottam chukkadi taila is preparation
designed to treat vatvyadi & vatakaphaja
disorders.
