5. WHAT
-The Internet of Things (IoT) is the
network of physical objects embedded
with electronics, software, sensors, and
network connectivity that enables these
objects to collect and exchange data.
11. BARRIERS
● Sensor energy. For IoT to reach its full
potential, sensors will need to be self-
sustaining. Cannot change batteries in billions
of devices
Eg: shoes with piezoelectric chargers
● Deployment of IPv6. The world ran out of IPv4
addresses in February 2010. In addition, IPv6
makes the management of networks easier
due to auto configuration capabilities and
offers improved security features.
● COST - obviously! :p
12. IoT: Critical for Human Progression
● As the planet’s population continues to increase, it becomes critical for humans
to sustain earth’s resources.
● IoT helps do that by minimising marginal costs and helps in making sustainable
choices at the time of decision.
● Humanity will soon have the knowledge and wisdom it needs not only to survive,
but to thrive in the coming months, years, decades, and centuries.
