Observational learning:

Classical conditioning:
This occurs when an individual learns to associate two previously unrelated stimuli. A famous
example of this is Ivan Pavlov’s experiment in which dogs learned to associate the sound of a
bell with the presentation of food, leading to the dogs salivating at the sound of the bell alone.

• Operant conditioning:
• This occurs when an individual’s behavior is shaped by the consequences of their actions. Positive reinforcement

behavior being repeated.
• Social learning theory:

experience.
• Insight learning:
• This occurs when an individual has an “aha!” moment and suddenly understands a concept or solution to a problem.
This type of learning often involves the active manipulation of information in working memory and the sudden
formation of a new mental representation.
