the miracle. The hospital is calling it an unexplained image. Officials say that as long as the image is

window moved some people to tears and drew groups of people to a hallway before vanishing.

What is Love? by Alvin George 4th grade
Love is what Jesus showed us when he sacrificed his life for us on the cross. He loved us all
and was willing to sacrifice himself to save us. Love is one of the most precious things God and Je-
sus ever showed us. Love is part of God and Jesus’ character. Love is kind (1 Corinthians 13:4).
Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous and love does not brag and is not proud. Love is not
rude (1 Corinthians 13:5). There is many ways to be bad. Love is something that makes you avoid
being bad. Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are
tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away. (1 Corinthians 13:8).

Solomon and His Wisdom by Alicia Alex
Have you ever wondered what wisdom is? Have you ever wondered how and why Solomon got
his wisdom? In the dictionary, wisdom is defined as “an ability to understand what is right, true, or
enduring.” People say wisdom is the knowledge that you always use in life. In Solomon’s story, it is
different. In Solomon’s story, wisdom is the ability to understand what is right. However, in his story
wisdom is a way to show that if you ask for little, you get a lot.
When Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings, that same night, the lord appeared to him in
a dream. The Lord asked “what would you like me to give to you?” Solomon asked for wisdom. If

Youth Social Day by Debbie Mathew
Saint Peter's Youth Club was proud to host its first event of the year, Social Day on April 12,
2008. Congratulations on an extremely successful day! A very big thank you to everyone who partici-
pated and helped make this event a success. As was publicized to all of you, the goal of Social Day
was to express church unity amongst the youth of our church and we are proud to inform you that 48
youth members attended Social Day This was an impressive turnout and we are proud to report that
the goal of Social Day was achieved. Of course, this event would not have been as successful as it was
without the help of a few special people.
First off, we want to thank God.
Without His grace we would not have
been able to hold this event. As you all
may remember April 12th was a gor-
geous day, we thank God for giving us
such a beautiful day to host our event.
We thank the Reverend Jose Daniel for
performing the opening ceremony
prayer and speaking with the youth
about the importance of unity and spiri-
tuality. We thank Shiryl Mathai for lead-
ing us in our afternoon prayer and for
his words about unity.
                                                                    S.P.Y.C

Every event requires a lot of preparing and setting up. For this, we thank everyone who took
time out of their busy schedules to come to the church on Friday night to help with things such as
cleaning, arranging of furniture, shopping for supplies and many other things. These important people
include: Abey Abraham, Boby Abraham, Jenson George, Juff George, Steven George, Jafin Isac, Ga-
byo Jose, Roy Mathen, Debbie Mathew, Donna Mathew, Justin Parambath, Toby Thampy, Neethu
Tharu, and Eldhose Thekkethottiyil.
For Social Day, we wanted to hold events that the youth wanted to partake in so we asked everyone to
bring in different items such as board games, video games, sports equipment and others. Much appre-
ciation goes out to the people who brought in supplies. These individuals include: Abey Abraham,
Boby Abraham, Christina George, Gabyo Jose, Debbie Mathew, Donna Mathew, Basil Tharu, Neethu

One of the most important things every successful event requires is live entertainment, for this
we give a standing ovation to the members of "They'll Tell You Next Year" for their outstanding en-
tertainment. A very big thank you to Justin Parambath, Toby Thampy, Basil Tharu and Eldhose Thek-
kethottiyil for giving us such a remarkable closing ceremony.
Last but not least, we thank all the members of Saint Peter's Youth Club! Without your help,
support and prayers this day would not have been the success it was. Social Day was a symbol of all
the things we can accomplish by working together towards a common goal. We look forward to host-
ing many more future events and seeing all of you there. Thank You and God Bless!

    What is a Censer?
The censer is swung by the Thurifer, a priest, or a Thirumeni. The censer is used for the
burning of incense. However, the symbolic meaning is of purification and to beseech our Lord to
accept our prayers. The censer is a cup used as the base and it is held up by three chains and on
top of the bottom cup is an inverted lid that is held by another chain. The chain that holds up the
lid end at a hook. Also there is a ring where the finger can adjust the position of the lid.
             Bottom cup = Earth
             Coal = sinners
When the coal is burning, it means the purging of our sins.
             Lid = heaven
Smoke = our prayers rising from the earth to heaven
Four chains have three bells on each of them = twelve apostles
Altogether the fours chains have 72 links on them.
72 links = 72 evangelists who helped spread the Word of God in the Old Testament
             Four Chains = Holy Trinity.
Two chains represent Jesus, a union of his Godly and human nature, the other two chains repre-
sent the Father, and the Holy Spirit.

Attitude by Liya George
There are two types of attitude, negative and positive. The most important decision we make in
our lives is the attitude we choose to express each day. This is a very important choice which deter-
mines whether we succeed or fail.
Positive attitude helps us face the daily problems of life. It brings optimism into your life, and
makes it easier to avoid worry and negative thinking. In Proverbs 15:15 it says that “The cheerful
heart has a continual feast.” With a positive attitude you see the bright side of life, become optimistic
and expect the best to happen. It is certainly a state of mind that is well worth developing and
strengthening. The key to living our lives free from negative thought is to remember who we truly are.
For many, the transition to positive awareness requires "small steps" on a chosen path.
Doubt will cause us to have a negative attitude. If we begin to doubt the promises of God, we
will become a doubled minded person. In the math world two negatives equals a positive. That means
that when two things go wrong in your life a positive thing will come out of that. In John 16:33 it
says, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall
have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

Faculty bought patients from the hospital units to witness the miracle. The hospital is calling it an unexplained image. Officials say that as long as the image is making patients feel good, that’s all that matters. The unexplained image in a hospital prayer garden window moved some people to tears and drew groups of people to a hallway before vanishing. “And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.” - 1 John 4:16 What is Love? by Alvin George 4th grade Love is what Jesus showed us when he sacrificed his life for us on the cross. He loved us all and was willing to sacrifice himself to save us. Love is one of the most precious things God and Je- sus ever showed us. Love is part of God and Jesus’ character. Love is kind (1 Corinthians 13:4). Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous and love does not brag and is not proud. Love is not rude (1 Corinthians 13:5). There is many ways to be bad. Love is something that makes you avoid being bad. Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away. (1 Corinthians 13:8). Solomon and His Wisdom by Alicia Alex Have you ever wondered what wisdom is? Have you ever wondered how and why Solomon got his wisdom? In the dictionary, wisdom is defined as “an ability to understand what is right, true, or enduring.” People say wisdom is the knowledge that you always use in life. In Solomon’s story, it is different. In Solomon’s story, wisdom is the ability to understand what is right. However, in his story wisdom is a way to show that if you ask for little, you get a lot. When Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings, that same night, the lord appeared to him in a dream. The Lord asked “what would you like me to give to you?” Solomon asked for wisdom. • 5. Youth Social Day by Debbie Mathew Saint Peter's Youth Club was proud to host its first event of the year, Social Day on April 12, 2008. Congratulations on an extremely successful day! A very big thank you to everyone who partici- pated and helped make this event a success. As was publicized to all of you, the goal of Social Day was to express church unity amongst the youth of our church and we are proud to inform you that 48 youth members attended Social Day This was an impressive turnout and we are proud to report that the goal of Social Day was achieved. Of course, this event would not have been as successful as it was without the help of a few special people. First off, we want to thank God. Without His grace we would not have been able to hold this event. As you all may remember April 12th was a gor- geous day, we thank God for giving us such a beautiful day to host our event. We thank the Reverend Jose Daniel for performing the opening ceremony prayer and speaking with the youth about the importance of unity and spiri- tuality. We thank Shiryl Mathai for lead- ing us in our afternoon prayer and for his words about unity. S.P.Y.C Every event requires a lot of preparing and setting up. For this, we thank everyone who took time out of their busy schedules to come to the church on Friday night to help with things such as cleaning, arranging of furniture, shopping for supplies and many other things. These important people include: Abey Abraham, Boby Abraham, Jenson George, Juff George, Steven George, Jafin Isac, Ga- byo Jose, Roy Mathen, Debbie Mathew, Donna Mathew, Justin Parambath, Toby Thampy, Neethu Tharu, and Eldhose Thekkethottiyil. For Social Day, we wanted to hold events that the youth wanted to partake in so we asked everyone to bring in different items such as board games, video games, sports equipment and others. Much appre- ciation goes out to the people who brought in supplies. These individuals include: Abey Abraham, Boby Abraham, Christina George, Gabyo Jose, Debbie Mathew, Donna Mathew, Basil Tharu, Neethu Volume 4 Page 5
  • 6. Youth Social Day cont… One of the most important things every successful event requires is live entertainment, for this we give a standing ovation to the members of "They'll Tell You Next Year" for their outstanding en- tertainment. A very big thank you to Justin Parambath, Toby Thampy, Basil Tharu and Eldhose Thek- kethottiyil for giving us such a remarkable closing ceremony. Last but not least, we thank all the members of Saint Peter's Youth Club! Without your help, support and prayers this day would not have been the success it was. Social Day was a symbol of all the things we can accomplish by working together towards a common goal. We look forward to host- ing many more future events and seeing all of you there. The most important decision we make in our lives is the attitude we choose to express each day. This is a very important choice which deter- mines whether we succeed or fail. Positive attitude helps us face the daily problems of life. It brings optimism into your life, and makes it easier to avoid worry and negative thinking. In Proverbs 15:15 it says that “The cheerful heart has a continual feast.” With a positive attitude you see the bright side of life, become optimistic and expect the best to happen. It is certainly a state of mind that is well worth developing and strengthening. The key to living our lives free from negative thought is to remember who we truly are. For many, the transition to positive awareness requires "small steps" on a chosen path. Doubt will cause us to have a negative attitude. If we begin to doubt the promises of God, we will become a doubled minded person. In the math world two negatives equals a positive. That means that when two things go wrong in your life a positive thing will come out of that. In John 16:33 it says, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” 9946 Haldeman Ave Philadelphia, PA 19115
