Thank you to the chairman/woman of initialization/esittelystäni
Hello, everybody. It’s nice to be here. My name is Petri Linna. Here is also listed my colleagues in this case study.
My presentation topic is …
I do research in Tampere university of technology.
This university consists of multiple units and I work in Pori unit. That unit locates in Town of pori.
I am project worker and researcher in many kind of projects and developing blended learning and social media is one of them project areas.
I don’t know how well you know where is the Finland, so here is the map.
Here you can see town of Pori and there is this case study done.
Main campus of Tampere university of technology is over there.
Narrow
This case study was done in Pori, Jyväskylä and Vantaa.
Okay, now let’s move on.
This is my presentation contents today.
At first, I will tell backgrounds of this case study
Then I will tell you our experiences of case studies
I introduce [assessment] inquiry and its [structure] and results
And next.
I introduce in practise lessons used social media tools.
Then I summarize our experiences of this case study.
If there is time I introduce some projects and future ideas where we continue education developing issues.
There are ongoing education/curriculums development projects (KASKU, Ajatar)
There are currently planned in automotive development project
Let’s go forward….
This study was initiated by Huhtala nationwide survey. ….
(Huhtala, 2013, s.146):
Haasteena on että, oppilaitosten resurssit ja laitteistot eivät vastaa työelämän tarpeita, koska ala kehittyy nopeasti.
The automotive sector is a major change. ….
Eti kuvia jostain…
The education sector is changing. ….
Tähän kuva tulevaisuuden skenaarioista joissa oli gaming …. And so on
Mipron paperista saa alusta ehkä vinkkiä
As a result, the project was applied for the development of the automotive sector. This paper is one part of that project.
Before the training to the participants were sent assessment questionnaire
We wanted to clarify their knowledge and understanding of social media.
And to …
The results of the survey were evaluated the best and worst some knowledge areas.
the top five were
And worst three were
Conclusion
poor social media skills and knowldedge level
social media theory lessons must be initiated on the basis
social media exercises should be the basic stuff and easy
negative attitude
After the questionnaire, analysis and planning of training
We started the training lessons
Based on the results of the survey were evaluated some of potential tools for training lessons
For example …
The first exercise was a team work, which will make a mindmap. Task was find those things that relate to student and learning. This task was not actually social media tools training, but this was exercise to find the possibilities of influence, which in turn can be used social media tools.
All you probably know WordPress, which is a blog and a web page service. With WordPress you can make a great blogs or web pages.
WordPress exercise was the idea that all participants put in to make your own blog, so that they could later conduct their own blogs for students. Blogs are good for our own expertise and presented the internship.
Exercise did not succeed very well. We had too little time for that in relation to how weak was the know-how enabled services.
Using the service was successful. Threshold to use etherpad was extremely small.
Do I have time left/ If I have time, I will shortly tell you about KASKU project.
Jos minulla on aikaa, niin kerron hieman porin laitoksella kehitettävästä monimuoto-hankkeesta, jossa itse olen mukana. Sosiaalinen media on luonnollinen osa työkaluvalikoimaa ja ideologiaa
In KASKU is continued developing blended learning issues and social media is part of that project.
There is four work packages.
1. ….and continue this paper case studies directly
3. ….. This third package is mine, I am response its results.
If you are interested in our case or KASKU project techniques.
I also read some articles of this session, and there are many interesting topics. Maybe we can co-operate some way at someday.
Thank you very much.
