It is my pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for Mr. Paul J. Serra. I’ve taught with Mr.
Serra for the past two years at Pinnacle MGRM Mesa Charter School. I have worked side by side with Mr.
Serra as the Lab Manager and as the Lab Aide. The experience of working with Mr. Serra has been very
rewarding.
My career in education spans thirty-three plus years. During this time I have worked with many
educators. Paul has been one of the most dedicated educators that I have had the opportunity to be
associated with for several reasons. First, Paul has shown a strong desire to learn various teaching
techniques in order to improve his skills in the classroom. Secondly, Paul will put in whatever amount of
time necessary to become a more effective teacher. He is often at school several hours after the last
student has left the building. Thirdly, he understands that becoming a successful teacher is not measured
by awards and accolades from his peers, but, rather by the ultimate success of his students. Finally, Paul
takes his role as a teacher seriously but at the same time he understands the value of humor in the
classroom.
Paul’s students will tell you he is tough, however, they will also tell of his fairness in dealing with
them. Paul teaches with the philosophy that: “the students don’t care how much you know until they
know how much you care”. Paul has demonstrated that he is a fast learner. He is always willing to share
his time and knowledge with his fellow teachers.
I firmly believe that Mr. Serra has been a tremendous asset to Pinnacle High School. It is my hope
that he will find a teaching position where he can also coach, as this is one of his passions.
I would highly recommend Mr. Paul J. Serra for any teaching and coaching position where a hard–
working, dedicated and reliable individual is sought after.
