2. Overview/Background
● Cerebral Palsy (CP) is the most common
physical disability in children
● Virtual Reality (VR) is an increasingly
popular physical therapy intervention
strategy
● Current VR solutions are not designed with
patient and caregiver input to address
specific needs
● Microsoft Kinect allows us to create tailored
experiences for patient and caregiver
3. Kollect
● A fun and versatile game to promote activity
and health in youth with CP
● Utilizing the Kinect, players collect colored
shapes scoring points in 2-10 minute
sessions while standing or seated
● Settings ranging from piece variety, session
length, and graphical fidelity can be adjusted
4. Remote Features
● Settings can be remotely changed by patient/therapist
to set specific parameters
● Game communicates with online reporting database (for
multiple players)
● Database catalogues patient joint angles (functional
mobility) and location of in-game collected pieces
(accuracy) and other therapeutic metrics
