Company
Charotar Cosmetics is started in 1993 with a vision to serve the market
with qualityProducts at reasonable price. The core group consists of
most experienced skilled person-like engineers, pharmacists, chemists,
foreign trade management executives etc.
Global Paints was founded on December 13, 2004, as we filled with
compassion and zest with challenges to thrive in the paint Industry the
year 2010 marked another milestone in Global Paints’ history when,
on July 7, 2010, the firm opened its second production unit at
Waghodia, G.I.D.C. Vadodara (Gujarat). And on January 15, 2019.

Production Detail
In the Cosmetic sector, the company manufactures various products of Hair care, Body care, Oral care, Home
care, Skin care, Men and Women care, Health care, Household and Agriculture.
The Cosmetic industry (CCPL) describes the industry that manufactures and distributes cosmetic products.
These include colour cosmetics, like foundation and mascara, skincare such as moisturisers and cleansers,
haircare such as shampoos, conditioners and hair colours, and toiletries such as bubble bath and soap. The
manufacturing industry is dominated by a small number of multinational corporations that originated in the
early 20th century, but the distribution and sale of cosmetics is spread among a wide range of different
businesses.
Global Colours AND Chemicals Limited is majorly in Business Services business and currently, company
operations are active. A monthly production capacity of 15 tonnes of water and oil-based paints, with the aim of
providing the highest quality and best service to the paint market.

Personal care products are used mainly for your
wellbeing; they also involve home care, health care
and beauty. These personal care products are
applied to the human body for cleansing,
beautifying, promoting attractiveness and enhancing
appearance.
In this type of care product manufacture Dishwash,
Floor cleaner, Liquid detergent, Dentle care gel
toothpaste, Guava body lotion.
Also, CCPL manufacture men and women skin care
products including Face scrub, Glowing cream,
Hand wash, for health care products including
Protein and Multivitamin powders, tablets and
capsules.In Agriculture product including Silicon
based crop protection

The liquid base is prepared first than water, sorbitol and other liquid
ingredients. Modifiers may be pre-mixed wit a non-aqueous liquid
ingredient such as glycerin with other powdered ingredients.
The active ingredient sweetener and preservative are added. The
jelly form of Liquid base then added with abrasive.
Then blending with agitator and mixer. Flavoring and coloring are
added. The detergent is added last under slow speed agitation to
minimize foaming. It is typically in solid form to avoid adding water to
the formation at this stage and then the paste going into molding
where the 150gm toothpaste packed in each mold.

Management
• The Problem
Due to product residue and the complex nature of cosmetic
packaging, cosmetic products are difficult to recycle through
normal processes. As such, most of the cosmetic waste ends
up in landfill.
• The solution
However, we do not realize that most of the cosmetics that we
used everyday use plastic materials as its containers. With an
increasing number of cosmetics that sold, it also created a
higher amount of plastic waste.
If the plastic waste is not properly managed and recycled, the
trash will be pileup and become an environmental problem.
To solve this problem, some well-known cosmetic brands
have begun to implement a program called Zero Waste to
Landfill (ZWTL) for their waste management.

Summary
I came on conclusion that this internship connects theoretical aspect of
technical knowledge and how that is implemented in practical aspect. I carried
out my internship at CCPL Limited in the cosmetic and paint plant. I had studied
about the unit operations and processes involved in the plant, material balance,
design of equipment, safety aspects etc.
At the end I would like to say that this was an opportunity to develop and
enhance skills and competencies in my career field which I achieved.
