CENTER OF EXPERIMENTAL CONSTRUCTION OF MODELS AND PROTOTYPES
Founded in 1978 by Giovanni Forneris – who was trained at the Fiat’s Styling Centre and with the most prestigious designers and body-makers in Turin, including Mr. Michelotti and Mr. Giugiaro – the company has been working, since the beginning, to harmonize two key factors of the industrial culture in Piedmont: artisanal care to quality and details and technology innovation.
Over the years CECOMP has been gradually growing, based on both the continuous investments in new technology/ infrastructure and the extension of its product/service range.
More recently the two sons of Giovanni got gradually the operative reins of the company: Gianluca, in charge of technical/commercial activities, and Paolo, responsible of the financial/administrative issues. The founder is still at the top, in the role of president.
Nowadays CECOMP, as part of the ANFIA (Italian Association of the Automotive Industry), gives shape to ideas developed by designers, style centres, R&D departments of vehicle’s OEMs around the world. It performs all types of activities at style development phase, prototype stage, industrialization, as well as "turnkey" projects, up to the small-series production & supply of complete vehicles.

Various prototyping stages are required according to the complexity of the design. CECOMP have always used the most effective combination of human capabilities and high-technology to provide a prototype for the validation stage within the shortest possible space of time.
The reduction in times and costs is guaranteed by the use of dedicated technologies for each specific component, always ensuring an ultra-high- quality product.
The flexibility of our facility guarantees maximum discretion and privacy in working areas at all times.

PROTOTYPE ASSEMBLING
Each step of a vehicle assembling, from jigs conception and construction to the final assembly on metrological plate (with control tools for parts positioning), can be performed in accordance with our quality certifications and Client’s specifications.
Dedicated and secreted areas can be set-up, with needed size, equipment, engineers and work procedure. Support of all internal departments.
Based on the extensive experience developed by working with different OEMs and parts suppliers worldwide, a significant support can be given also for the

TOOLING
Starting from a CAD file of a part/sub-system and according to the number of parts to be produced, tooling office is able to develop the complete set of tools, through all the steps of the proprietary procedure. Senior experts from the workshop work besides CAD/CAM engineers, since the beginning, in order to perform initial checks on the part’s shape and address the suitable development of production process/tooling.
Sheet metal forming simulations are then used to verify and tune the details of geometry.
Final checks/trials/tuning of tools, made before approval.
Tooling Engineering experience:
Hammer-forming; Sheet-metal stamping;
Thermo-plastics; Hand-made FRP;
Assembly jigs; Metrological tools (master cubing);
Glazing forming; Policarbonate forming;

HAMMER FORMING
A unique team of hand-hammer craftsmen and dedicated tools can be involved to manufacture real sheet parts, very quickly and with residual investments.
This capability is peculiar for:
•new products developments (early sampling),
•style models (functional),
•show-cars,
•one-offs,
•restoration of historical vehicles.
