1.Digital India Introduction
Digital India is a campaign launched by the Government of
India in order to ensure the Government's services are made
available to citizens electronically by improved online infrastructure
and by increasing Internet connectivity or by making the country
digitally empowered in the field of technology The initiative includes
plans to connect rural areas with high-speed internet networks.
Digital India consists of three core components:
1.the development of secure and stable digital infrastructure
2.delivering government services digitally
3. universal digital literacy.
Launched on 1 July 2015 by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi,
it is both enabler and beneficiary of other key Government of India
schemes, such as Make in India, Startup India and Standup India.
As of 31 December 2018, India had a population of 130 crore
people,123 crore Aadhaar digital biometric identity cards, 121 crore
mobile phones, 44.6 crore smart phones, 56 crore internet users
up from 481 million people (35% of the country's total population)
in December 2017, and 51 per cent growth in e-commerce.
2.Digial India week
The Digital India Week is a mega event planned for national launch
of the Digital India programme. This national event will have
participation of all Central Ministries/ Departments and all States.
Vision of Digital India Week
1. Effectively deliver the message of Digital India
2. Communication in all languages as far as possible
3. Ensuring value of actions in terms of demonstration of service
delivery to citizens by converging existing and new services, usage
of digital infrastructure under Digital India
Digital India Week Objectives
1. Connect all citizens through Digital Media campaigns and events
2. Inform all about the vision, services and benefits of the Program
3. Educate citizens on functional digital ability, cyber security, cyber
hygiene, ensure better utilization of Digital infrastructure .
3.Benefits of digital India week
ADVANTAGES :
1.Indian villages will be benefitted the most as with the phase of
digitalisation they would be provided with even more of basic
amenities (like electricity would be surrly provided as it is a base
for digitalisation ).
2.Villagers will get an opportunity to discover new things through
internet facilities.
3.With digital lockers, our documents would be safely stored.
Possibility of loss would be minimised.
4.Online service portals will reduce the delays. All procedures would
be transparent.
5.Employment will increase as IT companies will employ more people
so as to accomplish their i.e. company's goals.
6.Digital India aims to boost E-business and the E-commerce industry
with the vision that it would in turn boost the economy is a whole.
7.Students at the secondary and tertiary levels may be able to access
study material from all around the world with the help of Internet.
8.Provide feedback to the government wherever possible so that the
government may continually bring the necessary changes in its
service delivery mechanism.
In short, Life would become easier to an extent.
4. Vision of digital India
The vision of Digital India programme is to transform India into a
digitally empowered society and knowledge economy.
Vision Areas of Digital India
The Digital India programme is centred on three key vision areas:
1. Digital Infrastructure as a usefull to Every Citizen
 Availability of high speed internet as a core utility for delivery of
services to citizens
 Give digital identity that is unique, lifelong, online and authenticable
to every citizen
 Safe and secure cyber-space.
2. Governance & Services on Demand
 Availability of services in real time from online & mobile platforms
 Digitally transformed services for improving ease of doing business
 Making financial transactions electronic & cashless.
3.Digital power to Citizens
 Universal digital literacy
 Universally accessible digital resources
 Citizens not required to physically submit Govt. documents /
certificates.
5. Impact of digital India
A. Economic impact:
GDP development, work profitability, development in the
number of organizations and income liquid for the Government.
There is as yet a gigantic financial open door in India as the
Tele-thickness in rustic India is just 45% where over 65% of the
populace lives.
B. Social impact:
Mobile and internet banking can improve the financial action in the
country and can create a win-win situation for all parties in the value-
chain by creating an able to exchange ecosystem and revenue sharing
business models.
Telecom operators get additional a source of revenue of a company
while the banks can reach new customer groups incurring lowest
possible costs.
C. Environmental impact:
The next generation technologies will help in lowering the carbon
footprint by reducing fuel consumption, waste management, greener
workplaces and thus leading to a greener ecosystem. The Information
and Communications Technology sector helps in efficient management
and usage of scarce and non-renewable resources.
6. Nine pillars of digital India
1.Broadband highway:
Resting of nationwide optical fiber network (NOFN) in all 2.5 lakh gram
panchayats in the nation will occur in a phased way.
2.Universal access:
Guaranteeing mobile phone access in around 44,000 discovered towns in
the nation and government is taking action to ensure that all towns are
covered through mobile phone connection
3.Public Internet access:
The public Internet implies that everyone has access . Even 1.5 lakh
post offices to be transformed to be transformed to a multi-service
centres in 2 decade.
4.E-Governance:
The government aims to improve processes and delivery of services
through e-Governance.
5.E-Kranti:
This service aims to deliver electronic services to people which deals
with health, education, farmers,
Justice, security and financial inclusion.
6.Information for all:
The focus will be on online internet website
Hosting service of data and realistic participation through social
media and web based systems like MyGov.
7.Electronics manufacturing:
The government is focusing on zero imports of electronics. In order to
achieve this, the government aims to put up smart energy meters,
micro ATMs, mobile, consumer and medical electronics.
8.IT for Jobs:
This initiative seeks to train 10 million people in towns and villages
for IT sector jobs in five years.
9.Early harvest programs:
This are programs which are implemented within short timeline
Government plans to set up Wi-Fi facilities in all universities across
the country. An Email will be made the primary mode of
communication. Aadhar Enabled Biometric Attendance System will
be deployed in all central government offices where the recording
of attendance will be made online.
7. Digital India initiatives
1.AADHAAR
Aadhaar identity platform is one of the key pillars of ‘Digital India’,
wherein every resident of the country is provided with a unique identity
or Aadhaar number. The largest biometrics based identification system
in the world.
2. ACCESSIBLE INDIA CAMPAIGN MOBILE APP
Accessible India Campaign is a nation-wide flagship campaign for
achieving universal accessibility that enables people with disabilities to
gain access for equal opportunity, live independently and participate
fully in all aspects of life in an inclusive society.
3. AGRIMARKET APP
The mobile application has been developed with an aim to keep farmers
abreast with the crop prices and discourage them to carry-out distress
sale. Farmers can get information related to prices of crops in markets
within 50km of their own device location using the AgriMarket Mobile
App.
4.BHIM (Bharat Interface for Money)
an app that makes payment transactions simple, easy and quick using
Unified Payments Interface (UPI). It enables direct bank to bank
payments instantly and collect money using a Mobile number or
Payment address.
5.DIGILOCKER
Targeted at the idea of paperless governance, DigiLocker is a platform
for issuance and verification of documents & certificates in a digital way,
thus eliminating the use of physical documents.
8. Challenges
1.High level of digital illiteracy:
Full fledged digitalization is cashless transaction on daily basis, use of
internet services to get government certificates. This requires
administration changes, Taxation changes and change in public mentality
is difficult.
2. Connectivity to remote areas:
problem of connectivity is a complex issue because every state has
different laws pertaining to its execution. Also it is challenging for the
central authorities to make a database where such a huge information
can be stored.
3. Cyber Crime:
There is cyber threat all over the globe and digital India will not be any
exception. Hence we need a strong anti cyber crime team which
maintains the database and protects it round the clock.
4.Finance:
Though there are resources with India but there is a huge capital cost
which is to be invested and the fruits of the investment will be received
after few years.
5.Changing the mindset:
This point will come into picture when you have allocated the required
resources and material but when it comes to implementing them, most
of them will be hesitant to change.
9. My opinion
According to me Digital India was…
a) E-Governance
b) Internet. banking to Mobile Banking,
c) Optical fibre network throughout the country,
d) Digital toys for Child development,
e) High-speed digital highways to drive innovation,
f) Increase of internet users.
According to this project The main motto of this launch was to
improve the online infrastructure by increasing internet
connectivity and making country digitally empowered with
technology.
The goal is to ensure cashless, paperless, and traceable
transactions

  • 2. 1.Digital India Introduction Digital India is a campaign launched by the Government of India in order to ensure the Government's services are made available to citizens electronically by improved online infrastructure and by increasing Internet connectivity or by making the country digitally empowered in the field of technology The initiative includes plans to connect rural areas with high-speed internet networks. Digital India consists of three core components: 1.the development of secure and stable digital infrastructure 2.delivering government services digitally 3. universal digital literacy. Launched on 1 July 2015 by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it is both enabler and beneficiary of other key Government of India schemes, such as Make in India, Startup India and Standup India. As of 31 December 2018, India had a population of 130 crore people,123 crore Aadhaar digital biometric identity cards, 121 crore mobile phones, 44.6 crore smart phones, 56 crore internet users up from 481 million people (35% of the country's total population) in December 2017, and 51 per cent growth in e-commerce.
  • 3. 2.Digial India week The Digital India Week is a mega event planned for national launch of the Digital India programme. This national event will have participation of all Central Ministries/ Departments and all States. Vision of Digital India Week 1. Effectively deliver the message of Digital India

Ensuring value of actions in terms of demonstration of service delivery to citizens by converging existing and new services, usage of digital infrastructure under Digital India Digital India Week Objectives 1. Connect all citizens through Digital Media campaigns and events 2. Inform all about the vision, services and benefits of the Program 3. Educate citizens on functional digital ability, cyber security, cyber hygiene, ensure better utilization of Digital infrastructure .
  • 5. 3.Benefits of digital India week ADVANTAGES : 1.Indian villages will be benefitted the most as with the phase of digitalisation they would be provided with even more of basic amenities (like electricity would be surrly provided as it is a base for digitalisation ). 2.Villagers will get an opportunity to discover new things through internet facilities. 3.With digital lockers, our documents would be safely stored. Possibility of loss would be minimised. 4.Online service portals will reduce the delays. All procedures would be transparent. 5.Employment will increase as IT companies will employ more people so as to accomplish their i.e. company's goals. 6.Digital India aims to boost E-business and the E-commerce industry with the vision that it would in turn boost the economy is a whole.
  • 6. 7.Students at the secondary and tertiary levels may be able to access study material from all around the world with the help of Internet. 8.Provide feedback to the government wherever possible so that the government may continually bring the necessary changes in its service delivery mechanism. In short, Life would become easier to an extent.
  • 7. 4. Vision of digital India The vision of Digital India programme is to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. Vision Areas of Digital India The Digital India programme is centred on three key vision areas: 1. Digital Infrastructure as a usefull to Every Citizen
  • 8.  Availability of high speed internet as a core utility for delivery of services to citizens  Give digital identity that is unique, lifelong, online and authenticable to every citizen  Safe and secure cyber-space. 2. Governance & Services on Demand  Availability of services in real time from online & mobile platforms  Digitally transformed services for improving ease of doing business  Making financial transactions electronic & cashless. 3.Digital power to Citizens

  • 10. 5. Impact of digital India A. Economic impact: GDP development, work profitability, development in the number of organizations and income liquid for the Government. There is as yet a gigantic financial open door in India as the Tele-thickness in rustic India is just 45% where over 65% of the populace lives. B. Social impact:

Mobile and internet banking can improve the financial action in the country and can create a win-win situation for all parties in the value- chain by creating an able to exchange ecosystem and revenue sharing business models. Environmental impact: The next generation technologies will help in lowering the carbon footprint by reducing fuel consumption, waste management, greener workplaces and thus leading to a greener ecosystem. In order to achieve this, the government aims to put up smart energy meters, micro ATMs, mobile, consumer and medical electronics. 8.IT for Jobs: This initiative seeks to train 10 million people in towns and villages for IT sector jobs in five years. 9.Early harvest programs: This are programs which are implemented within short timeline Government plans to set up Wi-Fi facilities in all universities across the country. An Email will be made the primary mode of communication. Aadhar Enabled Biometric Attendance System will be deployed in all central government offices where the recording of attendance will be made online.

Digital India initiatives 1.AADHAAR Aadhaar identity platform is one of the key pillars of ‘Digital India’, wherein every resident of the country is provided with a unique identity or Aadhaar number. The largest biometrics based identification system in the world. 2. ACCESSIBLE INDIA CAMPAIGN MOBILE APP Accessible India Campaign is a nation-wide flagship campaign for achieving universal accessibility that enables people with disabilities to gain access for equal opportunity, live independently and participate fully in all aspects of life in an inclusive society.
  • 17. 3. AGRIMARKET APP The mobile application has been developed with an aim to keep farmers abreast with the crop prices and discourage them to carry-out distress sale. Farmers can get information related to prices of crops in markets within 50km of their own device location using the AgriMarket Mobile App. 4.BHIM (Bharat Interface for Money) an app that makes payment transactions simple, easy and quick using Unified Payments Interface (UPI). It enables direct bank to bank payments instantly and collect money using a Mobile number or Payment address.
  • 18. 5.DIGILOCKER Targeted at the idea of paperless governance, DigiLocker is a platform for issuance and verification of documents & certificates in a digital way, thus eliminating the use of physical documents.
  • 19. 8. Challenges 1.High level of digital illiteracy: Full fledged digitalization is cashless transaction on daily basis, use of internet services to get government certificates. This requires administration changes, Taxation changes and change in public mentality is difficult. 2. Connectivity to remote areas:
  • 20. problem of connectivity is a complex issue because every state has different laws pertaining to its execution. Also it is challenging for the central authorities to make a database where such a huge information can be stored. 3. Cyber Crime: There is cyber threat all over the globe and digital India will not be any exception. Hence we need a strong anti cyber crime team which maintains the database and protects it round the clock.
  • 21. 4.Finance: Though there are resources with India but there is a huge capital cost which is to be invested and the fruits of the investment will be received after few years. 5.Changing the mindset: This point will come into picture when you have allocated the required resources and material but when it comes to implementing them, most of them will be hesitant to change.

My opinion According to me Digital India was… a) E-Governance b) Internet. banking to Mobile Banking, c) Optical fibre network throughout the country, d) Digital toys for Child development, e) High-speed digital highways to drive innovation, f) Increase of internet users. According to this project The main motto of this launch was to improve the online infrastructure by increasing internet connectivity and making country digitally empowered with technology. The goal is to ensure cashless, paperless, and traceable transactions
