framework covering India
The company has focused on building R&D capability in plant genetics and bio-technology, as a differentiator. The investment in
people processes has been significant in order to sustain the business transformation initiative. They have also acquired
companies domestically as well as overseas as part of the expansion strategy.
The leadership of the company believes that future growth would be driven by innovation across the seed business. A sustainable

The company wanted to clearly articulate the key differentiating competencies, core values and cultural characteristics. The
objective was to recommend a simple, easy to understand and action version of competency framework for seed business. A
roadmap for integrating the framework in key people management processes and employee experience touch points was also
needed.
This involved, understating the gaps between perceived and desired culture, reframing the competencies to reflect the most
important behavioral indicators for growth and recommending focused interventions as well as design of People management and
other HR process that use competencies as their foundation.

Competency Identification:
•To identify business strategy aligned competencies, PeopleWiz consultants conducted various functional workshops and help in depth
discussions with functional leaders who were responsible for building capability for their teams. This included Sales, Marketing, Growth units,
Breeding, R&D, Production, Processing, QA and all enabling functions.
•The existing competency framework was analyzed and HR processes were studied to understand the present level of maturity.
•Simple, easy to understand and action oriented competencies were identified, behavioral descriptors were created. Through multiple
conversations with the business, the framework was socialized and ingrained into the collective psyche of the organization.
