2. Week 1
This week I began my research. I started of by looking at
similar products to mine. I looked at Named Collection
which is a streetwear company and how they have
advertised/ presented their company. I also looked at a
couple of clothes advertising videos by Louis Vuitton and
Burberry which gave me a few techniques as to how I will
plan.
Looking at the existing products was a big help as it gave
my different ideas and techniques to use when in
production.
One problem I found was that I struggled to find existing
products that were similar to what I wanted to make, which
meant I didn’t research as many existing products as I
planned to.
3. Week 2
I finished my existing products and moved onto subject
research and my audience research. I found when
researching about my subject (streetwear fashion) that
there wasn’t much to look at. I looked through many
websites and most of them said the same thing that
meant I couldn’t write much for my subject research.
One thing that I was happy with this week was
my audience research. It gave me all the answers I
wanted to know and has given me a good idea as to
what I need to create to make my projects appeal to
my target audience.
4. Week 3
This week I did problem solving in which I
created a contingency plan and spoke about the
theoretical problems I may encounter. I also
started experiments and created a video with
Antony using the 360 camera.
I'm happy with how the problem solving went
as I feel I have covered every possible problem I
may face when creating my project.
Unfortunately, I did not get time to fully edit the
360 video I made with Antony so I finished it at
home.
5. Week 4
Before I started my planning I finished off the
rest of my problem solving and experiments.
For my experiments this week I took photos of
Antony in the studio using different angles
seeing which will work best when it comes to
production. This will be really useful for when I
have to shoot my footage as it will save time.
Starting production I wrote about all the
equipment I will need to use , contingency plan
and models outfits.
A problem I found was that I still had no idea
what the models were going to wear so I had to
contact them all individually and sort the outfits
out.
6. Week 5
I then moved onto creating my
catalogue layouts. Due to the lack
of existing products research I had
to go look at different examples of
catalogues which then helped me
create a layout I was happy with. I
also looked at the locations I will
use and planned when I was going
to film.
7. Week 6
• This week I finished
planning. I created my
production schedule, shot
list and planned what fonts
and music I am going to use
for my video. At first I chose
a song, however it wasn’t
royalty free so I had to look
for a song that would fit my
promo vids that I could use
without out it getting
copyrighted .
8. Week 7
This week I started my long advertainment video. I found that all the
clips have worked nicely with the music and has been easy to cut to.
One problem that I faced was choosing transitions that ran smoothly
into the next clip. I messed around different effects and eventually
found some nice transitions. Another problem I faced was that some of
the videos were too slow. For example, the transition where the phone
goes into Antony's hand and when it pulls back out of Mollys hand it
didn’t work smooth enough, so I had to increase the speed of the clip
of Molly to enable it to run smoothly.
(week after half term)
9. Week 8
This week I finished my long advertisement video and started my
short advertisement clip (tik tok). For the short advertisement clip I
used some videos from the long video but mainly used other footage I
had taken. For my shorter advertisement video (tik tok), I decided after
editing for a bit that I wanted to use different music to my other promo
video so I found some more royalty free music to use. By doing this it
slightly delayed my production process as I had to re edit the clips to
the beat of the video.
10. Week 9
This week I finished my short advertisement video and moved on to
editing photos for my catalogue. Because I had to re edit my short
promo video to the new music, it gave me less time to edit my photos
but by working faster than I usually would, I managed to start editing
my photos and get back on the schedule. I went through the picture I
am going to use in my catalogue an enhanced the colours, changed
brightness, sharpened them, added vignettes...
Before After
11. Week 10
I finished editing my photos for my catalogue which then enabled
me to start creating my catalogue. Creating the pages proved to be
quite easy as I stuck to my plan and each of the photos I had taken
fit really nicely especially the double page spreads. The only problem I
had was the front cover. My plan originally was to zoom in on the
photo of Antony and it the main focus of the page be his face, however,
it didn’t give me space to insert the logo on the page without it
covering his face or blending into the background.
12. Week 11
Final week of production and I have finished my catalogue. I didn’t have
any more problems with creating catalogue this week. When I had
created my catalogue I went back over the other products I had made
and checked if there was any problems or anything I could do to
improve them. The only thing I noticed that I wanted to change was the
lack of logo use on my short advertisement clip. I decided to add a
watermark of my logo in the corner of the screen to make it seem more
of an advert.
