This document outlines plans for a 5-minute documentary on graffiti styles. It includes a mood board showing lighting contrasts, a description of footage to be used including interviews, and outlines for scripts, storyboards, shot lists, and a production schedule. The documentary will introduce different graffiti styles through examples and interviews to educate viewers on the art form in an appealing personal style. Footage will be collected locally and through travel, with production scheduled over 4 weeks to film, edit, and finalize the video.
2. Mood board.
This is my mood board the sort
of moods I want to create are
some darker some light to have
that contrast. All shows outside
for a natural lighting and then
obviously the graffiti being the
main point of view. The graffiti
will all be bright colors so
maybe darker places and
lighting to contrast that on top
of that I will do some in bright
lighting to show the full range
of colors and why graffiti is so
beautiful.
3. Content:
The part of my documentary I will be using for this piece will be the start of the pilot episode. It will start with clips of all different
types of graffiti to show the audience the wide range of pieces all clips will be filmed around my local area however the graffiti
scene isn’t as big so I may have to do a bit of traveling to say York or Leeds to get some better clips of more interesting graffiti. I will
then put in the intro and talk about what the series will be about, why I chose to make it and what it is trying to achieve. The fact
it is about the styles its less targeted towards everyone and more so towards people that are interested in graffiti. The different
focus will make this documentary complete different to the one I already made. The interview is one of the key points I need as
after I have that filmed then I can structure photos and videos around that. It will be the biggest part of my video and the main
focus throughout the 5 mins. I still need to find an interviewee that is willing to take part I have a few people in mind and just need
to ask and get it filmed. I will make it appeal to my audience by giving them what they want to hear the fact I will include a
interview with a writer will be the main attraction as these are people that don’t want to be seen or talked to and then giving the
people that experience and knowledge will help appeal to the audience. I will give it a style that runs throughout the video as it
will make it more personal and will link in with the graffiti/ anything creative as I want it to be more personal and people to think
that me instead of just another documentary I will achieve this through the style I'm not too sure what style yet but when I start
filming I will find one that fits. On top of that the colours and graffiti will keep a bright colour scheme that will just make it when
more intriguing .
4. A script
Intro:
‘ Graffiti the street art that is now being accepted worldwide from criminals to artistes we are going to dive in and have a look at all the
different types of graffiti there are and how to identify each one individually.’
‘graffiti is a art form so there infinite different ways to do it and different spots also give pieces different names.’
‘in this series we will go over all different types starting at the basics and then get onto some more confusing and complex ones.’
‘The first style we will look at is tagging’… explain tagging.
‘we will then look at throw ups’… explain throw ups.
Then wild style there the main 3.
Then I will talk about the more wacky styles like sticker, stencil, heaven spots, block busters and posters. If this isn’t enough to fill the
whole video I will research some more and talk about them as well however I have 8 different styles to fit in 5 mins I don’t think ill
need anymore.
I will also include my interview dotted throughout.
Maybe start with a clip from the interview to bring the watcher in so they want to watch on.
5. storyboard
Intro will be a long
shot with a digital
graffiti title over it.
Then it will be shots of
graffiti and the different
types I will cover in the
documentary
After that or may even show
a skit before of the
interview.
I will get some close up
shots of graffiti and it
being done this will
come after the
interview or during as
the interviees face cant
be shown so it might
get boring just looking
at nothing so I will play
clips over some.
Following that I will go back to
different styles n look at some more
Then to end the outro
which will have music and
may even have another
piece depending on how
much time I have.
6. Shot list
Shots What will be in then?
1 Introduction talking about the brief overview of what will happen in the series.
2 Followed by shots of graffiti I find on the streets with a voice over of different styles.
3 Start of the interview and explain what it will be about.
4 More street shots with music or even more voice over.
5 More of the interview with shots of graffiti or someone doing graffiti.
6 Final few shots with last bit of information and why people should watch on
7 Outro
7. Production Schedule:
Week 0 This is the week before production so the week of planning however so I
am ahead I will need to collect basic videos or sketches that I can work
on the first week so no time is wasted however I may use this time to
make my digital piece for the intro.
Week 1 This week I will finish off anything I didn’t and will have quite a bit of
footage by then to start putting together this will also be the week I will
hopefully film my interview.
Week 2 By this week I should have filmed my interview or will be filming so by the
end of that will be able to start putting that into edit this week will also be
collecting the rest of my footage of its all done.
Week 3 By this week I should have it all filmed and start putting it all together
with music and videos and get the basic outline of the video.
Week 4 The last week will just be finishing touches and I will re watch and see if
there is anything I can make better. If there is I will improve it if there's
not then I can still tweak it slightly just to make it look finished
Notas do Editor
You could create a mood board of images related to your product. They could be inspirational or visually interesting. Analyse what you have gathered.
Decide on content and think about how you will structure your piece – consider the conventions of your chosen style/genre, think about the best methods to appeal to your audience.
Finally work out a production schedule for the project. Once you have a final proposal, begin to plan how you intend to realise your project and what you will need to create/collect.
