2. A look into diesel fuel
tank treatment.
• Many times, just the mention of fuel additive treatments are
met with skepticism, followed with rolling eyes reserved to
snake oil salesmen.
• The skeptic isn’t necessarily to blame. All too many fuel
treatments don’t do all they claim. Add to this, the treatment
is hidden in a fully contained tank, unseen to the average
consumer. There is no visual verification to what’s
happening, if anything at all.
• Following, you will see for yourself, the effective use of a
diesel fuel treatment, when using the proper treatment for
the ailment at hand. Additives are not created equal.
3. This first photo is of a fuel pick up screen
heavily coated in bacterial slime.
4. The second photo was a partially filled fuel
tank just after pumping off “treated” fuel.
Notice the residual black bacteria?
5. The third photo shows the shiny treated area
in contact with treated fuel
6. Bacteria in Fuel??
• Bacteria exists in “all” diesel fuel. The amount
depends on many factors such as age, water
content, temperature, and use.
• Beside plugging fuel filters, bacteria also
produces acidic waste causing MIC- Microbial
Induced Corrosion.
• Limiting exposure to bacterial contamination and
remediating gross bacterial infections can be
mitigated with simple treatments and time.
• MIC is stopped in its tracks with the same
treatment.
7. Tank analysis.
• In the partially clean tank slide, notice the straight
shiny line between remediated and un-remediated
tank walls. This line shows a partially filled tank
with an effective fuel treatment.
• The dull brown area is bacteria embedded into the
tank walls, ready to grow again once the tank is
refilled with diesel fuel. Bacteria will grow again if
left untreated.
• Filling this tank again to the top, with proper
treatment of the right fuel additive, will mitigate the
remainder of the bacteria and protect against MIC.
