13. Key learnings
- Not an exact science and is a journey - requires commitments from all involved parties
to be successful, sustainable and to create value for the involved parties
- Role of facilitator(s) and/or knowledge broker is crucial
to create the environment of trust and for members to rise above the institutional agendas to encourage
open sharing of ideas and information
- Institutions require strategy and appropriate resources to get most out of these
initiatives, given the stake and talk on innovation and the value of collaboration
- Diversity is key to enhancing relevance and value of such collaborative initiatives
(entities, sectors, disciplines and regions)

14. Future work areas and challenges
- Areas global platforms can play in catering to local/regional collaboration, knowledge
sharing and capacity development needs
(north-south, south-south knowledge sharing, technology transfer and capacity development
for least developed and middle-income countries)
- Win-win avenues for private sector engagement in knowledge sharing and capacity
development, particularly in least developed (LD) and middle-income (MI) countries
- Ways the existing initiatives can play in (near) real-time communication of on-the-ground
insights and issues to green growth practitioners, policy-makers and researchers,
particularly in regards to LD and MI economies
- Effective model of engagement with research funding agencies and organizations for
supporting identified knowledge gaps (e.g by GGKP Research Committees ?)
