Is Just Transition the business of business? Yes!
• There is a business case as well as a moral case
• No transition, just or otherwise, without the private sector
Business perspectives need to be taken into account in the JTWP, with an emphasis
on the most ambitious and most accountable
JTWP outcomes can help build greater awareness raising and capacity building
across the business sector
• Getting beyond the handful of leading businesses to the millions of others
• Informing on the “how to” of better integrating just transition actions into business operations
(JT platform)
Shining a spotlight on accountability
• Just Transition must be an integral part of an ambitious corporate transition plan, not an
alternative to it - cannot be an excuse for inaction
