2. Historical Outlook
• India was an entrepreneurial country for ‘generations.’ At the micro
level, - The farmers cultivated the soil and tended cattle. Similarly,
there existed weavers, goldsmiths, carpenters, potters, oil pressers,
washermen, cobblers, barber-surgeons, etc.
• Then came the British Raj and our spirit of entrepreneurship got
corrupted and ‘jobs’ became a palatable word!
• But, this is changing… India is looking at a new wave of
entrepreneurship to strengthen its economic outlook and enhance
the standard of living of its people.

3. Indian Context - What can be done?
• Our strengths are to our help!
• Over 50% of youth population
• Increasing number of technology graduates
• Well connected community of youth
• Product and Service focus alike
And, if not for entrepreneurs, who else can create jobs for
over 10 lakh graduates coming out of our schools every
year!!!
The question is, how can we engage the youth of India to
build value and create jobs!
