Legislative Assistant to Member of Parliament Mr. Avinash Pande, Rajya Sabha Member from
Maharashtra (June 2015 to date)
Work closely with Shri Avinash Pande, MP, Rajya Sabha providing individualized research
support. This entails providing research inputs to help him fulfill his parliamentary duties
such as asking questions, assessing the performance of ministries, raising matters of public
importance, participating in various legislative and policy debates. During off-session,
providing research support for standing committee meetings and preparation for the next
Parliament session.
Drafted a Private Member Bill - "Companies (Amendment) Bill, 2016" to amend the
Companies Act, 2013 in order to expand the scope of area of relevance so that the activities
of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) can be undertaken in areas not only with high
economic activities but also in areas with low economic activities for promotion of equitable
social development and growth across the country and for improving the overall quality of
life of citizens of the country.
Drafted a Private Member Bill – “Companies (Amendment) Bill, 2016” to amend the
Companies Act, 2013 in order to introduce the concept of Social Impact Assessment while
reporting for the spending done under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to bring about
transparency and efficiency in such spending done by the Companies and to ensure that
maximum benefits are derived from the spending done under CSR for the most neglected
sections of the society.
Worked on The Indian Penal Code (Amendment) Bill, 2014 to further amend the definition
of rape under the Indian Penal Code, 1860 and criminalize the offence of marital rape.
Worked on Armed Forces (Special Powers) (Amendment) Bill, 2015 to amend the Armed
Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958.
