SlideShare is a slide hosting service, acquired by LinkedIn in 2012. It
allows users to upload files (PowerPoint, PDF, Keynote, or OpenDocument
presentations) either privately or publicly. The slide decks can then be viewed
on the site itself or can be embedded on other sites. Launched on October 4,
2006, the website is considered to be similar to YouTube, but for
slideshows. Although the site was originally intended for businesses to share
slides amongst employees more easily, it has expanded and now hosts a
large number of slides that are uploaded for anybody to view. Although the
website is primarily a slide hosting service, it also supports documents, PDFs,
videos and webinars. SlideShare also provides the users the ability to rate,
comment on, and share the uploaded content.

HOW TO USE SLIDESHARE
1. Create presentations in PowerPoint.
2. Sign up and fill out your profile.
3. In your profile you can include a link back to your website’s URL, choose
some tags to describe you and include an image.
4. Include keywords in your title and in the keywords section so that people will
be able to find your presentation either when searching on Slideshare itself
or even in the search engines.
5. Include a good description for the video, as well, so people know the focus
of your presentation without them having to check it out first.

6. You can also add audio narration to your presentations.
7. You can embed links in your presentation.
8. Slideshare also has a follow feature. You can follow other Slideshare users
and get their updates when they add new content to their accounts.
