(7) Daisy Perforated Lids (Smelly Jelly
Jars)
Thermometer
Pouring Pots
Other items you will need:
Pencil
Stainless Steel Spoon
Stove
(6) Disposable Bowls
(4) Toothpicks
2. Step 1: Place 160 grams of Pillar of Bliss wax into your melting container. Using the double boiler
method as described in one of our classes, melt wax on low on the stove until the wax is completed
melted. Get your seven empty stainless tart molds ready.
Step 2: Weigh out 8 grams of Deb's Flower Shoppe Fragrance Oil. Once the wax is completely
melted, add the fragrance oil to the wax. Stir.
Step 3: While you are waiting for the wax to melt, take all 4 of your toothpicks, and cut them in half.
You want one of the edges of the toothpick to have a point, while the other should be flat.
Step 4: Since for this project, the flower tarts are pastel, you do not need a full drop of dye. Carefully,
dip the flat end of the toothpick barely into each of the Spectrum Candle Dyes. One toothpick in each
color- red, blue, green, burgundy, purple, orange. There will be one toothpick with nothing on it, this
will be the white tart.
Step 5: Once the wax is melted and scented, carefully weigh out 22 grams of wax into each paper
bowl. Using the dyed end of the toothpick, swirl the color into each bowl of wax. Then, mix
thoroughly. Do not throw your toothpicks away yet.
Step 6: Bend the side of the paper bowls to make a pour spout, and quickly pour each bowl of wax
into its own individual stainless tart mold. You will use the remaining wax that is in your pouring pot
to make the white tart.
Step 7: Once all of the stainless tarts are full, place one daisy perforated lid on top of each stainless
mold. You want to center the middle hole as best you can to the tart.
Step 8: Taking the correct colored toothpick, and the left over toothpick (with no color) for the white;
place the flat end of the toothpick in the center hole of the perforated lid. As the wax starts to cool,
keep straightening the toothpicks so they stand erect.
Step 9: When all of the tarts have completely hardened and cooled, carefully remove the perforated
lid. You may also remove the toothpicks. Next, remove the tarts from the molds.
Step 10: Take one of your CD-5 wicks, and carefully thread the tarts through the wick, placing one on
top of the other. When you are finished, curl the top of the wick by placing it around a pencil.
3. Step 11: To use: you can either take off the individual tarts and melt them in your wax melter, or if you
choose, you may trim the wick and light them as a pillar candle.
Note: For this recipe, we used a 5% fragrance load. If you are going to use these for tarts only, you can go
as high as 8% fragrance load.
