of cutting edge water table management methodologies and technology. Our Principal Environmental Scientist sits on
several committees which ensures, as a group, we are across all of the current environmental requirements regardless
of which state the project is governed by.
Water testing and analysis is conducted to gather an understanding of the groundwater characteristics and
composition. Critical to the success of a project’s dewatering scope is the consideration of the following:
Benefits of Groundwater Remediation
 Treating water extracted from Acid Sulfate Soil prior to discharge will remove the hazardous exposure risk of iron
sulphides being released into waterways which may have the potential to kill aquatic life and threaten biodiversity
 Increases water availability for commercial and environmental uses
 Groundwater treatment prior to discharge/recharge significantly improves water quality which benefits the
sustainability of surrounding aquifers and waterways
 Treated water can be recycled for project construction use eg: dust suppression
 Effective treatment will remove excess iron and other heavy metal contents from the water, which may provide
additional discharge options when applying for discharge licences

with the smallest footprint, making it ideal for sites with
space restrictions, these units come complete with portable
emergency eye wash stations.
Untreated water is pumped into the PDU. Within the pipe the
pH is corrected to within the desired range (for example 6.5
to 8.5) via the addition of alkali or acid solutions. These
solutions are added via a diaphragm dosing pump linked to
the proportional pH controller. The pH corrected water is
discharged from the PDU via a final pH monitor.

efficient water clarification system, suitable for the removal of
silt, sand and other solids, at flows of up to 5L/s. These are
ideal for sites with space restrictions and they come complete
with portable emergency eye wash stations.
Water enters the TRIDENT 2 and flows into the inlet
distribution chamber. This chamber allows even flow
distribution through the inclined plate pack, without
entraining any of the settled solids. The water flows upwards
through the plate pack and the solids slide down to the
hopper. The clarified water is collected in the discharged
flumes and overflows into the discharge well before exiting
the unit. Solids are collected in the hopper and are thickened
by gravity, prior to being discharged via the sludge outlet.
The TRIDENT 2 sludge hopper has 60 degree sides to allow
gravity thickening and removal, without the need for a
mechanical scraper.
Although the following can be logged manually at the unit, the
Mobile Dewatering Group provide optional telemetry for 24/7
web based monitoring alarms and logging of the following pa-
rameters:
 Inlet pH
 Discharge pH
 Instantaneous flowrate
 Total discharge
Chemicals
The Mobile Dewatering Group maintain a good
relationship with a choice of chemical suppliers
throughout Australia that provide water
treatment chemicals at competitive prices.
Delivery of chemicals to a project using site
compliant fleet and equipment can be arranged
both internally by our DG licenced drivers or
direct from our suppliers. All chemicals used on
site are risk assessed and safety data sheets
(SDS) are made available with all chemicals used
onsite. All water treatment chemicals onsite are
appropriately stored in bunded IBC’s, secured
and labelled.
Metals Removal Module (MRM)
The MRM is a custom built water treatment system primarily functioned to remove excess iron from extracted ground
water prior to it being discharged to the environment. The raw water produced through the MRM process is classed as
high quality which can in turn be safely and environmentally risk averse reinjected back into the aquifer or discharged
into the storm water system. The MRM system has the ability to remove contaminants such as Manganese, Zinc,
Arsenic and other heavy metals. While each MRM can comfortably process 15 l/s. of raw water, it can be further
customised to process higher or lower discharge rates (subject to water analysis). The MRM is an effective water
treatment solution for projects with stringent discharge criteria, as this method is capable of treating the harshest and
most corrosive groundwater and has been proven to remove iron levels down to ≤ 0.3 mg/l. The MRM units are set up
in conjunction with additional water treatment modules such as clarifiers, settlement tanks and aeration tanks. All
materials used to build the water treatment system comply with Australian Standards.

challenging for project managers and developers. The Mobile Dewatering Group are the leaders in the provision of
effective, customised and reliable solutions that not only meet but often exceed legislative requirements.”
Monitoring and Reporting
Monitoring of the water treatment system is completed on several levels. The operational systems can be controlled
remotely using remote connectivity software which enables functions such as pH adjustment, turning the system on
and off as well as implementation of incremental operational adjustments. Both the MRMs and CDUs are equipped
with water and pH level alarms as well as a flow rate alarm system which monitors any overflows or emergency
situations such as power outages. Our systems are monitored 24/7 with teams rotated through a rostered call out
schedule which allows emergency situations to be identified and attended to immediately.
The Mobile Dewatering Group has the ability and authority to produce the environmental reports required that ensure
our clients are constantly across the performance of the water treatment system and the alliance with their legislative
deliverables. Depending on the client’s requirements, data such as discharge rates, drawdown rates, chemical usage,
pre and post water test results as well as baseline monitoring are collected by our team daily. Information collected is
extrapolated into an in house reporting system and submitted to the client. A web based geotechnical instrumentation
monitoring system that monitors drawdown requirements and discharge rates is also used as required.
Pre and Post Water Treatment
The Mobile Dewatering Group can deliver an
extensive water testing program with services
including sampling, testing, and reporting on
guideline evaluations. The program is designed to
provide the client with the confidence to make
informed decisions based on collected analytical
data. Most importantly, the results offer the client
documented evidence of environmental
compliance. Testing is done on site and samples are
also sent to NATA certified laboratories for third
party confirmatory testing and reporting.
Effluent Management
The Mobile Dewatering Group’s consistent delivery of improved groundwater treatment technology continues with the
effective and efficient management and disposal of effluent – a by-product of the extracted water treatment process.
One of our underlying principles is to deliver sustainable practices that are environmentally sound in theory as well as in
practice.
The Mobile Dewatering Group invested more than two (2) years of research and development resulting in an effluent
processing solution that can now be completed onsite. The effluent produced, also known as liquid sludge, was
previously removed from the project site for processing and disposal which incurred additional transportation and
scheduling costs. The benefits of this research and development are an environmentally effective process that maintains
an economically viable operation which in turn benefits the client’s bottom line.
Sludge Processing
The Sludge Processing Unit (SPU) is the tool used by the Mobile Dewatering Group within the effluent management
system. The press maximises the amount of water recovered from the liquid sludge, increasing the system’s overall
efficiency while significantly reducing the volume of sludge and solids that requires offsite disposal. The SPU is custom
designed and built to site specific requirements and is suitable for various applications.

Our ongoing commitment to training provides our clients with a range of up to date services across a variety of
platforms.
Asbestos Hazard Awareness
Most buildings constructed before 2000 are likely to contain asbestos containing material (ACM) which has the potential
to release asbestos fibres into the air. Despite this, many workers working in demolition, earth-moving, construction and
support services are not aware of the implications of working at worksites containing ACM, the risk of potential exposure
to asbestos fibres or control measures they can employ to minimise potential exposure.
Our two hour program is designed to give anyone from DIY renovators to skilled workers the right information and
advice about potential risks from asbestos containing materials.
This course is designed to go hand in hand with our ACM Hazard Awareness course and is available via face-to-face and
webinar.
Thermal Stress in the Workplace
In countries where very hot seasons are experienced the likelihood of suffering from thermal stress in the workplace is
significant and if poorly managed can result in permanent disability or even death. Workers already affected by working
environments hotter than those the human body’s mechanisms can cope face increasing risk as climate change sees
records toppled. This is designed to bring awareness to workers and supervisors via face-to-face training or webinar.
Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE)
Any employer requiring workers to use a respirator as part of their work duties is bound by Duty of Care legislation and
must comply with Australian & New Zealand Standard 1715:2009.
Unfortunately very few employers are aware of their obligations and the standard or how it should be applied to their
workplace.
The RPE training course provides participants with an understanding of their duty of care: AS/NZS 1715:2009; limitations
of respirators; why facial fit testing is required to ensure sufficient seal and protection; the need for respirator use
training including storage and maintenance.
Recharge / Reinjection Wells
Recharge or re-injection wells are designed to inject water into specific aquifers surrounding a site; this allows the
stratification of soils on site to be used in controlling drawdowns. A recharge well operates similar to a pumping well,
except the direction of flow is reversed. Recharge of water into the ground is more challenging than pumping. Recharge
wells are prone to self-clogging; even when water being recharged is of high quality. Suspended particles or gas bubbles
gets trapped in the well (or the aquifer immediately outside) leading to clogging and loss of efficiency.
The Mobile Dewatering Group have specialised treatment systems and extensive experience in the design and construct
of recharge well systems. Our extensive research and development over the years has facilitated in the design and
construction of effective recharge wells capable of reducing risk of offsite settlement issues.
Plant & Equipment
The Mobile Dewatering Group is a standalone company which means we are not reliant on other suppliers for plant and
equipment or labour. We are able to assess the job, design a system unique to that project and, if required, fabricate,

  • 9. Water Treatment When engaged on a project, we take full ownership of the works contracted. Our team of experts will review the geotechnical reports completed, conduct internal confirmatory soil and water sampling, perform onsite test spearing and draw on previous project experience and knowledge to ensure the right water treatment solution is designed. We then provide to the client an informed yet practical solution that is tailored to meet the client’s required remediation goals, budget and time frame. The Mobile Dewatering Group is known for its dedication to the process of continual improvement and development of cutting edge water table management methodologies and technology. Our Principal Environmental Scientist sits on several committees which ensures, as a group, we are across all of the current environmental requirements regardless of which state the project is governed by. Water testing and analysis is conducted to gather an understanding of the groundwater characteristics and composition. Critical to the success of a project’s dewatering scope is the consideration of the following: Benefits of Groundwater Remediation  Treating water extracted from Acid Sulfate Soil prior to discharge will remove the hazardous exposure risk of iron sulphides being released into waterways which may have the potential to kill aquatic life and threaten biodiversity  Increases water availability for commercial and environmental uses  Groundwater treatment prior to discharge/recharge significantly improves water quality which benefits the sustainability of surrounding aquifers and waterways  Treated water can be recycled for project construction use eg: dust suppression  Effective treatment will remove excess iron and other heavy metal contents from the water, which may provide additional discharge options when applying for discharge licences Hydrocarbon Removal Solutions Hydrocarbon removal systems can be installed as a plug-and-play system or can be specifically designed for the projects requirements. Oil is chemically bonded and will never be released back into the water streams. Key features include:  Removes hydrocarbons, Colloidal Heavy Metals, Organic Polymers and Persistent Organic Pollutants  Filter system is rated to 10 l/s , a total flow of 20 l/s  Highly efficient at 99.9% single pass efficiency and will not release the pollutants back into the water stream once they are captured.  Methods of discharge  Discharge Criteria  Discharge locations  Environmental legislation Water Treatment Equipment
  • 10. Chemical Dosing Unit The Chemical Dosing Unit (CDU) is a pH correction system used to treat extracted groundwater with a high or low pH and Total Titratable Acid (TTA) levels. The CDU is also used to successfully treat water with Possible Acid Sulfate Soil (PASS), ammonia and nitrogen oxide content. They can be custom built for a client’s specific requirements and have processing rates ranging from 60 l/s to 280 l/s. Trident 2 Features:  Fully automated chemical dosing system  Web based remote monitoring and adjustment  Eye wash station and chemical handling PPE  Self-contained and Portable  24/7 monitored alarm system  Easy to adjust pH dosing unit Trident 2 Specifications:  Length: 2.2 m  Height: 3.6 m  Width: 2.194 m  Capacity 5360 L  Max flow rate: 5 l/s  Min flow rate: 1 l/s  Internal pipe diameter: 100/50 mm  Dry weight: 1675 kg Water Clarification Tank – Trident 2 The TRIDENT 2 has been designed as a simple and highly efficient water clarification system, suitable for the removal of silt, sand and other solids, at flows of up to 5L/s. These are ideal for sites with space restrictions and they come complete with portable emergency eye wash stations. Water enters the TRIDENT 2 and flows into the inlet distribution chamber. This chamber allows even flow distribution through the inclined plate pack, without entraining any of the settled solids. The water flows upwards through the plate pack and the solids slide down to the hopper. The clarified water is collected in the discharged flumes and overflows into the discharge well before exiting the unit. Solids are collected in the hopper and are thickened by gravity, prior to being discharged via the sludge outlet. The TRIDENT 2 sludge hopper has 60 degree sides to allow gravity thickening and removal, without the need for a mechanical scraper. Although the following can be logged manually at the unit, the Mobile Dewatering Group provide optional telemetry for 24/7 web based monitoring alarms and logging of the following pa- rameters:  Inlet pH  Discharge pH  Instantaneous flowrate  Total discharge Chemicals The Mobile Dewatering Group maintain a good relationship with a choice of chemical suppliers throughout Australia that provide water treatment chemicals at competitive prices. All chemicals used on site are risk assessed and safety data sheets (SDS) are made available with all chemicals used onsite. All water treatment chemicals onsite are appropriately stored in bunded IBC’s, secured and labelled.
  • 12. Metals Removal Module (MRM) The MRM is a custom built water treatment system primarily functioned to remove excess iron from extracted ground water prior to it being discharged to the environment. The raw water produced through the MRM process is classed as high quality which can in turn be safely and environmentally risk averse reinjected back into the aquifer or discharged into the storm water system. The MRM system has the ability to remove contaminants such as Manganese, Zinc, Arsenic and other heavy metals. While each MRM can comfortably process 15 l/s. of raw water, it can be further customised to process higher or lower discharge rates (subject to water analysis). The MRM is an effective water treatment solution for projects with stringent discharge criteria, as this method is capable of treating the harshest and most corrosive groundwater and has been proven to remove iron levels down to ≤ 0.3 mg/l. The MRM units are set up in conjunction with additional water treatment modules such as clarifiers, settlement tanks and aeration tanks. All materials used to build the water treatment system comply with Australian Standards. MRM Features:  Fully automated and self-contained  Web Based Remote Monitoring and adjustment  Programmable logic controller (PLC) with Human Machine Interface (HMI) touchscreen  Self-adjusting pumps  Backwash cycle  Water Press/Lever Alarm system  Insulated and Ventilated  Fully Bunded Chemical storage  Minimal Noise/Vibrations  Safety features such as Isolation Switch, outdoor shower and eye wash and chemical handling PPE  Custom built to suit space and treatment requirement  Portable, can be safely stacked at a height Specifications:  Area footprint: 12 m x 3 m (minimum)  Height: 2.7 m  Gross Weight: 15000 kg  Minimum Flow rate: 2 l/s  Optimum flow rate: 15 l/s  Power supply: 32 amps 3ph  Maximum chemical capacity: 800 l  Maximum Bund Capacity: 1000 l “Meeting the environmental legislation in water treatment and disposal has made dewatering projects more challenging for project managers and developers. • 13. Monitoring and Reporting Monitoring of the water treatment system is completed on several levels. The operational systems can be controlled remotely using remote connectivity software which enables functions such as pH adjustment, turning the system on and off as well as implementation of incremental operational adjustments. Both the MRMs and CDUs are equipped with water and pH level alarms as well as a flow rate alarm system which monitors any overflows or emergency situations such as power outages. Our systems are monitored 24/7 with teams rotated through a rostered call out schedule which allows emergency situations to be identified and attended to immediately. The Mobile Dewatering Group has the ability and authority to produce the environmental reports required that ensure our clients are constantly across the performance of the water treatment system and the alliance with their legislative deliverables. Depending on the client’s requirements, data such as discharge rates, drawdown rates, chemical usage, pre and post water test results as well as baseline monitoring are collected by our team daily. Information collected is extrapolated into an in house reporting system and submitted to the client. A web based geotechnical instrumentation monitoring system that monitors drawdown requirements and discharge rates is also used as required. Pre and Post Water Treatment The Mobile Dewatering Group can deliver an extensive water testing program with services including sampling, testing, and reporting on guideline evaluations. The program is designed to provide the client with the confidence to make informed decisions based on collected analytical data. Most importantly, the results offer the client documented evidence of environmental compliance. Testing is done on site and samples are also sent to NATA certified laboratories for third party confirmatory testing and reporting.
  • 14. Effluent Management The Mobile Dewatering Group’s consistent delivery of improved groundwater treatment technology continues with the effective and efficient management and disposal of effluent – a by-product of the extracted water treatment process. One of our underlying principles is to deliver sustainable practices that are environmentally sound in theory as well as in practice. The Mobile Dewatering Group invested more than two (2) years of research and development resulting in an effluent processing solution that can now be completed onsite. The effluent produced, also known as liquid sludge, was previously removed from the project site for processing and disposal which incurred additional transportation and scheduling costs. The benefits of this research and development are an environmentally effective process that maintains an economically viable operation which in turn benefits the client’s bottom line. Sludge Processing The Sludge Processing Unit (SPU) is the tool used by the Mobile Dewatering Group within the effluent management system. The press maximises the amount of water recovered from the liquid sludge, increasing the system’s overall efficiency while significantly reducing the volume of sludge and solids that requires offsite disposal. The SPU is custom designed and built to site specific requirements and is suitable for various applications.

  • 20. Training Services Our ongoing commitment to training provides our clients with a range of up to date services across a variety of platforms. Asbestos Hazard Awareness Most buildings constructed before 2000 are likely to contain asbestos containing material (ACM) which has the potential to release asbestos fibres into the air. Despite this, many workers working in demolition, earth-moving, construction and support services are not aware of the implications of working at worksites containing ACM, the risk of potential exposure to asbestos fibres or control measures they can employ to minimise potential exposure. Our two hour program is designed to give anyone from DIY renovators to skilled workers the right information and advice about potential risks from asbestos containing materials. This course is designed to go hand in hand with our ACM Hazard Awareness course and is available via face-to-face and webinar. Thermal Stress in the Workplace In countries where very hot seasons are experienced the likelihood of suffering from thermal stress in the workplace is significant and if poorly managed can result in permanent disability or even death. Workers already affected by working environments hotter than those the human body’s mechanisms can cope face increasing risk as climate change sees records toppled. This is designed to bring awareness to workers and supervisors via face-to-face training or webinar. Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) Any employer requiring workers to use a respirator as part of their work duties is bound by Duty of Care legislation and must comply with Australian & New Zealand Standard 1715:2009. Unfortunately very few employers are aware of their obligations and the standard or how it should be applied to their workplace. The RPE training course provides participants with an understanding of their duty of care: AS/NZS 1715:2009; limitations of respirators; why facial fit testing is required to ensure sufficient seal and protection; the need for respirator use training including storage and maintenance.
  • 21. Recharge / Reinjection Wells Recharge or re-injection wells are designed to inject water into specific aquifers surrounding a site; this allows the stratification of soils on site to be used in controlling drawdowns. A recharge well operates similar to a pumping well, except the direction of flow is reversed. Recharge of water into the ground is more challenging than pumping. Recharge wells are prone to self-clogging; even when water being recharged is of high quality. Suspended particles or gas bubbles gets trapped in the well (or the aquifer immediately outside) leading to clogging and loss of efficiency. The Mobile Dewatering Group have specialised treatment systems and extensive experience in the design and construct of recharge well systems. Our extensive research and development over the years has facilitated in the design and construction of effective recharge wells capable of reducing risk of offsite settlement issues. Plant & Equipment The Mobile Dewatering Group is a standalone company which means we are not reliant on other suppliers for plant and equipment or labour. We are able to assess the job, design a system unique to that project and, if required, fabricate, manufacture and maintain all aspects in house thus reducing lead times and costs which are passed onto our clients. The equipment required to undertake the dewatering scope is readily available in our branches throughout Australia. The Mobile Dewatering Group offers a large and diverse selection of up to date, well-maintained plant and equipment. All our fleets are regularly maintained to the highest standard via regular scheduled servicing to ensure reliable and safe operation.
