  2. 2. Mission Statement “Ensuring the development and recognition of a vibrant, sound and diverse voluntary youth sector”Around 100 member groups running 850 weekly delivery units. Supporting over 6,000 volunteer youth leaders - up 28% on 2011.35,000 children and young people aged 5-25 regularly participating in positive, developmental activities - up 40% on 2011.Safe Champion for Staffordshire All sizes, open access, interest based, issue based, faith based, uniformed, urban, rur al, youth led, etc.

Changing the Culture • Remembering why we exist. – For the benefit of member groups and young people • Over 45% of resources goes direct to front line groups – i.e. Local support grants, free use of school buildings • Listen to member group needs and respond - Training • Endowment Fund leading to new Hardship Fund • Involvement of Young People - • Independence • Quality rather than quantity • Valuing youth work in a family-focused world

Measuring our own Impact • Annual census of member groups • Value of Infrastructure dials and functions • Member confidence survey and needs assessments • Reporting to Local Authority • Evaluation of all activity – i.e. Training, attendance at meetings, network events, etc. • Grant reports are always about impact or difference made
  5. 5. Communicating our Impact • State of the Voluntary Youth Sector in Staffordshire Report 2013 • Telling stories of individuals, member groups and the places they operate in. • E-bulletins, Newsletters, website, twitter, etc.
  6. 6. Demonstrating Social Value • Value of Volunteering • Highlighting the value of universal youth work in relation to: – Educational achievement – Overall health and wellbeing – Positive citizenship – Employability – Community Safety – Safeguarding
