2. We’re back with the Roth family. Erec and Fran are still
making good use out of the game room. After a season,
the restlessness of living in the wilderness has start to
set in.
3. Spending most of your time surrounded
by children will start to make you go a
little stir crazy.
4. Still Fran did her best. She knew in a few years
things in Ingleside would liven up, and then
she’d be wishing for just a little privacy again.
5. Pony sighed none of the new girls in town had come to
visit. Father said they were busy attending to their
studies and preparing to serve in important functions,
but couldn’t they come over just for a few hours?
6. Mama was pregnant again, and Lucy was too busy
looking after Balthasar to play with her. Not to mention
Father was always outside overseeing construction, and
other Lordly things.
7. She did overhear them talking about Remington
arriving soon. That was the family Master of
arms…Pony wondered if he was any fun?
9. Finally, Pony had enough of being alone. Balthasar was
the only thing she had in way of playmates. In a few
more months he should finally be big enough to do stuff
with.
10. Balthasar wouldn’t dance with her! But
playing ball should have been fun…well at
least Fran had danced with her.
11. Oh of course he would dance with Miss Lucy…
well she’d show him. She’d just dance with Father!
“Now Pony be nice.”
12. Master Harris had indeed arrived at last. It
would see Miss Lucy really liked
Remington.
13. Pony hadn’t had much of a birthday. She was now a young lady
living in the middle of nowhere! How she wished she could be
back in Avonlea like other young women, but she knew better
than to whine. She didn’t need a cross mother too.
14. Hopefully now that her news little brother
Hymen was here, Fran would be less
cranky. Pony could only hope.
15. Pony wasn’t overly fond of babies. She helped out with
Hymen and Balthasar, but her mother just didn’t
understand. Fran just laughed at how silly her little girl was
not thinking every minute of babies and having a husband.
16. She’d taken up painting recently. She’d seen Master Remington
painting shortly after he’d arrived and had been fascinated.
Luckily, as long as she didn’t keep Master Harris from his true
duties too much her Father had said he could give her lessons.
17. Balthasar was so lucky! He actually got a
chance to play games with actual people.
18. Though Fran was trying to have a bit more fun with her
daughter lately. She did seem to realize living all the way
out away from civilization couldn’t be easy on a young
woman.
19. Her Father understood her desires much more
though. He’d had a special shipment of books
sent in. Thank goodness new things to read!
20. Balthsar now had his own quarters outfitted. Pony had to admit she was
a bit jealous seeing her brother have such nice accommodations. In
some cultures the first born no matter gender got preferential treatment.
This comment had earned Pony a stern look and a warning that if she
didn’t change her tune, she’d be left at home during market day…
21. Well she best tow the line then…the market was only open twice a
year right now, and no way was Pony missing out on the opportunity
to see something other than the four walls of their castle. Nor did
she want to get stuck watching her little brother again.
22. Balthasar wasn’t so sure why his sister didn’t like
Hymen or him all that much. Perhaps, it was because
she was a young lady…and young ladies just like
different things.
23. Balthasar was excited! His father had told him he was
now old enough to start learning how to use a sword
from Master Remington next season! He couldn’t wait!
24. He liked Remington and Miss Lucy, but
sometimes they were just so mushy!
26. On the last day of Fall he’d looked out his window
and noticed Gypsy Brome at the lake. Perhaps he
could go across and fish with her for a while…
27. End of Week 2! I feel bad for Pony. She didn’t once bring the Brome
girls home from school, or any kids at all. I mean I know she’s in the
middle of nowhere but still. She rolled Knowledge by the way with a
LTW of Maxing 7 Skills. Nice easy want for early in a BaCC. Good girl.
