Today, we are going to discover YOUR unique personality through TRUE COLORS.
Have you ever been curious about your unique personality type?
Or perhaps how others see you?
Is there someone you would like to understand or get along with better?
If any of these are true – this is going to be a wonderful experience for you today.
Just a bit about myself –
Just a bit about myself –
This session will provide you with:
A self-assessment to better understand your unique personality type
Awareness of the four basic personality types/colors
How people of different personalities work together
Techniques for engaging with those who are similar and different
Tools to apply what we know about the colors to various areas of our lives
Mention Activity (worksheet) – if you have not already completed the activity worksheet sent via email before this webinar, feel free to do so as we move forward. It only takes a few minutes to completed.
You have probably heard of the many personality, character, and learning style inventories.
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) – sorts for preferences, measures personality on 4 spectrums, 16 types, each type is equal
DISC – personal assessment based on individual behaviors, helpful to adapt behaviors with others
Learning Styles – each of us have a dominant learning style, but we can combine them
Today, we are going to focus on TRUE COLORS!
The theory of True Colors can be traced back to when Hippocrates (460BC) identified four different temperaments of humans and Plato’s (428BC) ideas about character and personality. Many great thinkers have expounded upon this – like Jung, Fromm, Keirsey, Myers-Briggs. Don Lowry introduced True Colors in 1978 correlating the four colors to the four temperaments.
So, why True Colors?
You can take any personality assessment to help better yourself.
True Colors allows YOU to:
Better understand YOU
Know your strengths
Promote individual differences and appreciate the gifts of others
Improve your effectiveness in working with others – we are not just one color. Each of us has a primary and secondary color
Hopefully you have been able to complete the activity. If you need it, go to tinyurl.com/truecolorquiz
For each row – you needed to rank the four categories with #1-4, where 4 is most like you and 1 is least like you. Repeat this for each subsequent row.
At the bottom, there is a RESULTS box. Add up all of the rankings for each letter.
This will correspond to the 4 colors – to show your primary and secondary color.
I will be using Poll Everywhere a few times in this presentation. You can access it with your mobile device or web browser as seen on the screen.
