Project: Reactivation and Rehabilitation of SCADA system for Transmission Company of Nigeria.
Activities
• Site Survey in Nigeria
• Restore the crashed database, Site Acceptance test,
• Analyze the accuracy of information coming from the Substations: analogue values (alarms. measured values,
Calculated Values) and Digital values (Commands) coming from the Field to the Control Centre and from the
Control Centre to the field.
• Retest all the functionality of the System and fix all the bugs and problems.
• Interconnect 4 Control Centres (Osogbo- National control Centre, Shiroro, Benin and Ikeja West-Regional Control
Centres) With Multi Site Fiber Optic Communication.
• Troubleshoot and Connect all the disconnected Stations to the respective Control Centres

The Sinaut Spectrum is running on Solaris platform version 7 and Oracle database. 4 controls Centre (one National
Control Centre and one regional control Centre is a Mirror of the National control Centre and it is a Backup of the National
Control Centre) The database maintenance is done only in these 2 locations. The Power applications such as Load Flow
Forecast, AGC (Automation Generation Control) and Network Applications are running in these two Control Centres. 129
RTU (Sicam eRTU) are connected to these control Centres) among them 26 330kV that comprise 14 Generating Stations.
The rest are 132kV and 33kV Stations that are connected to Control Centres Via Radio Communication, PLC or Fiber
optic.

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) provides electricity and water for Dubai. In anticipation of
deregulation, state-owned DEWA segregated their businesses into two parts: a Distribution Control Center
(DCC) and a Transmission Control Center (TCC). The DCC’s Global Ranger System (GRS) had exceeded its
lifespan and needed to be exchanged, and the TCC wanted to strengthen its reliability and availability. What’s
more, both businesses wanted to increase their operational efficiency through state-of-the-art energy
management systems with advanced application functions.

Project: Extension of the Nigeria Transmission Company to the TCN Headquarter in Abuja Nigeria.

• Installation of 4 Users Interfaces (Operators consoles) in the Power Holding of Nigeria HQ in Abuja (for monitoring
purpose)
• Connect this system to the National control Centre in order to get all signals coming from the grid. These consoles
were installed in the head of system operation office, Head of system Transmission office, Head of market
operator office and room Control room.
• Installation and Configuration of Router.

• Modify the configurations files in the National control Centre to integrate these User interfaces as part of the
National control Centre but they have only monitoring rights.
• Establish a Remote Access (VPN connection) with Siemens AG in Germany for technical Support.
• Modify As Build documentation.

Sinaut Spectrum Version 4.4 (SCADA/EMS applications), Oracle, Sun Solaris 7 (operating system), Sun fire V240, Sun
blade 150, Sun Storage Edge (48 Servers and 22 Users installed in 5 locations), WINPP (Simulation software). Siemens
Multi Site, SUTPASS hiT7020 (SDH Fiber optic Transmission Equipment), Empuron (Web access Software)
The Nigeria Transmission Development Project has four control Centres (One National control Centre, and 3
regional Control Centres). One of the regional controls Centre run as a backup of the National control Centre.
These control Centers are interconnected with fiber optic communication (Siemens SUTPASS
hiT7020equipements located in the Controls Centers and repeater stations) and managed by a transmission
management System.
The Multisite feature is configured for the four Control Centre.
The Archives, reports, and power applications features can be accessed via web application (Empuron) and these
reports can be converted in Excels (timesheets or graphics.
A Barco Wall is installed in the National Control Centre where you can view and monitor the National transmission
grid and projects any needed and vital information for the network analysis.

WORK EXPERIENCE May 2012 – August 2014 Company: Siemens AG (Infrastructure and City, Smart Grid Division – Nuremberg/Germany) Project Lead Expert SCADA/Instrumentation Project: Reactivation and Rehabilitation of SCADA system for Transmission Company of Nigeria. Activities • Site Survey in Nigeria • Restore the crashed database, Site Acceptance test, • Analyze the accuracy of information coming from the Substations: analogue values (alarms. measured values, Calculated Values) and Digital values (Commands) coming from the Field to the Control Centre and from the Control Centre to the field. • Retest all the functionality of the System and fix all the bugs and problems. • Interconnect 4 Control Centres (Osogbo- National control Centre, Shiroro, Benin and Ikeja West-Regional Control Centres) With Multi Site Fiber Optic Communication. • Troubleshoot and Connect all the disconnected Stations to the respective Control Centres • Synchronisation of GPS Clocks in the 4 Control Centres and Various Substations. • Restoration of the Barco wall • Participation of the monthly progress meeting with the Customer in Nigeria. • Customer Training. • Modify the as build documentation if necessary. The Sinaut Spectrum is running on Solaris platform version 7 and Oracle database. 4 controls Centre (one National Control Centre and one regional control Centre is a Mirror of the National control Centre and it is a Backup of the National Control Centre) The database maintenance is done only in these 2 locations. The Power applications such as Load Flow Forecast, AGC (Automation Generation Control) and Network Applications are running in these two Control Centres. 129 RTU (Sicam eRTU) are connected to these control Centres) among them 26 330kV that comprise 14 Generating Stations. The rest are 132kV and 33kV Stations that are connected to Control Centres Via Radio Communication, PLC or Fiber optic. February 2009 – May 2011 Company: Siemens AG (Infrastructure and City, Smart Grid Division – Nuremberg/Germany) Project Lead Expert SCADA/Instrumentation The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) provides electricity and water for Dubai. In anticipation of deregulation, state-owned DEWA segregated their businesses into two parts: a Distribution Control Center (DCC) and a Transmission Control Center (TCC). The DCC’s Global Ranger System (GRS) had exceeded its lifespan and needed to be exchanged, and the TCC wanted to strengthen its reliability and availability. What’s more, both businesses wanted to increase their operational efficiency through state-of-the-art energy management systems with advanced application functions. April 2009 – May 2011 Company: Siemens AG (Infrastructure and City, Smart Grid Division – Nuremberg/Germany) Project Lead Expert SCADA/Instrumentation Project: Integration of 11 ABB RTU into Siemens Sinaut Spectrum and Connection to various Control Centres. Activities: • Site Survey and data collection • Study and Analyze ABB signal of data structures with ABB experts in Switzerland. • Customise these signals in Siemens Sinaut Spectrum. • Preparation of Data I/O list • Data Engineering and data entry into the Siemens System. • Point to point Test (from the Substation to the Control Centre) • Modify the as build documentation of the Infrastructure. This system have only SCADA features like Command and Alarms, Reporting (Hourly, Daily, weekly, monthly and Annually reports) Archiving. June 2008 - December 2008 Company: Siemens AG (Infrastructure and City, Smart Grid Division – Nuremberg/Germany) Project Lead Expert SCADA/Instrumentation Project: Extension of the Nigeria Transmission Company to the TCN Headquarter in Abuja Nigeria. Activities: • Installation of 4 Users Interfaces (Operators consoles) in the Power Holding of Nigeria HQ in Abuja (for monitoring purpose) • Connect this system to the National control Centre in order to get all signals coming from the grid. These consoles were installed in the head of system operation office, Head of system Transmission office, Head of market operator office and room Control room. • Installation and Configuration of Router. 4
  • 5. • Modify the configurations files in the National control Centre to integrate these User interfaces as part of the National control Centre but they have only monitoring rights. • Establish a Remote Access (VPN connection) with Siemens AG in Germany for technical Support. • Modify As Build documentation. Technical Environment: Sinaut Spectrum release 4.4, Solaris 8, LAN wiring (Supervise the Local contractor for building wiring for LAN and Power Supply wiring and Connection to the UPS) and Testing. One of the regional controls Centre run as a backup of the National control Centre. These control Centers are interconnected with fiber optic communication (Siemens SUTPASS hiT7020equipements located in the Controls Centers and repeater stations) and managed by a transmission management System. The Multisite feature is configured for the four Control Centre. The Archives, reports, and power applications features can be accessed via web application (Empuron) and these reports can be converted in Excels (timesheets or graphics. A Barco Wall is installed in the National Control Centre where you can view and monitor the National transmission grid and projects any needed and vital information for the network analysis.
