Swasthasya swasthya
rakshnam,aaturasya vikar
prashamanam cha’
It means to preserve and
promote the health of
healthy as well as cure the
diseases.
Dincharya means daily routine work but its
not only a simple work it’s a systematic process
of a good life style and healthy life.

DINCHARYA
Get-up in brahma muhurta
• The healthy person, In the
order to protect his life,
should get up in brahma
muhurta, after
considering the condition
of digestion of food of the
previous night whether
properly done or not
Usha paan
Drink water on empty stomach in brahma
muhurta is called usha paan
Benefits – it helps in detoxifying the body
by flushing out metabolic wastes, the
digestive system is regularised
Malotsarga
After getting the urge of urine and faeces naturally
,the person should eliminate then facing north and
if still dark facing south.
Silently, sitting, the head with a cloth attending to
the urge commenced on its own and with out
initiating the urge by force
Touching with the mud and washing with water
were prefatory measures but not to dip the buttock
in water for ablution.
Achmana(purificatory)
Achmana means sipping small quantity of
water of water, should be done after contact
with (inauspicious) thing like tissue(blood
,muscle ,fat etc.)excreta tears muscles, fat, hairs
nails etc.
Achmana is a prefatory ritual done daily water
is taken in panchpatra(tumbler of copper or
alloy of five metals)
Oral hygine
Twigs of roots(branches) of astringent, bitter and
pungent tests, the twigs should be thickness of a
little finger straight, devoid of knot and obtained
from the (tree grown in) good place.
It should be of twelve angula in length.
Its one end is made like a brush chewing.
Teeth cleaned in the morning and after meals,
twice a day.
Tongue cleaner
 The tongue should be is to be cleaned by
scraping it, comfortably with a tongue
scrapper(made up of mettle).
 Scraping should be from the root of tongue to
tip but not in reverse direction.
 Benefits-It removes the dirt bad taste and smell
of the tongue, mouth and teeth.
Pranama
Nasya
It’s a process in which
medicated oil (like mustard
oil or Anu tail) is dropped
into nostril about 1-2drops
Gandusha
It is filling the mouth to its full
capacity with liquid with out
allowing its movements inside and
holding the liquid for a few minutes.
Benefits- it keeps the mouth clean
and pervents cracking and disease of
teeth and voice.
Dumapan
It is use of inhalation of
smoke.
Diseases of organs located
above the shoulders and
arising from vata and kapha
will not develop.
Twice a day and three times
once is instruction is given.
Tambula(panchewing)
Who desirous of good
taste cleanliness and good
smell of the mouth may
keep in the mouth tander
leaves of tambula along
with pan masalas.
Abhanga
 It’s a massage in which oils are
used.
 Oil should be applied especially to
the head ,ears and feats.
 Benefits- it is good for the hairs
,skull and sensory organs.
 It relives the pain of lower jaw neck
and ears.
 Cracking of feats
Excericse(vyayama)
 Activities which produces
tiredness to the body are known as
vyayama.
 Strong persons should do exercise
to half their capacity during cold
and in other session it should be
less.
 Half of capacity is determined by
appearance of sweat on fore head,
nose axillae and joints of the limbs
and dryness of the mouth.
 Benefits- it provides lightness to
body and reduce body fat.
Anjana(collyrium)
 Sauviranjana (collyrium eye-salve
prepared with antimony sulphide) is
good for the eyes and it should be
applied to the eyes daily.
 Rasanjana should be applied to the eyes
once a week regularly to drain the
slesma out.
 It helps profuse flow of tears and
remove dirt, excess moisture etc.
 Benefits-eyes become beautiful capable
of seeing even minute objects and eye
lashes become smooth and firs.
Face and eye wash
 Wash face and eyes with lukewarm water.
 Benefits-washing helps in removing dirt and
oil deposits from face and eyes thereby
preventing pimples and eye infections
respectively.
Kshour Karma
 It is necessary for mental and physical beauty.
 One should make his hair cut, save and nails
cut properly 3 times in 15 days.
 It is not to be done by hand, mouth and teeth.
 After it one should take a bath.
 Benefits-it makes the person healthy beautiful,
happy, clean,
Snana(bath)
Pouring hot water below the head is strengthening
and over the head with cold water.
It should not be done just after meal ,in mid night
naked or so many cloths.
Benefits- improves appetite, sexual vigour, span of
life, valour and strength; removes itching, dirt,
exertion, sweat, stupor, thirst, burning sensation
and sin.
food
 After taking a bath and after the
digestion of previous food which is
healthy and exact in quantity.
 One should not take the food little and
more then the particular quantity
which is depends on the agni of that
person.
 After it one should walk 100 kadam
and not to take water in next 45
minutes.
Padukadi dharan
 Cover the body with wet cloth or with the head
dress.
 Dress should be changed after bath, sleep, while
going out of the house and before worshipping gods.
 Especially one should wear khadau made up from
wood before taking food and after it.
 Benefits-it is batter in foot disease good for eyes and age.
Nidra
 Except summer season one
should sleep about 6-8 hours.
 In summer one should sleep 1-2
hours in a day.
 One should not sleep in day
time and always sleep in only
night time.
 Sleeping provide energy and
removes physical and mental
tiredness and essential for
health.

  • 22. food  After taking a bath and after the digestion of previous food which is healthy and exact in quantity.  One should not take the food little and more then the particular quantity which is depends on the agni of that person.  After it one should walk 100 kadam and not to take water in next 45 minutes.

Padukadi dharan  Cover the body with wet cloth or with the head dress.  Dress should be changed after bath, sleep, while going out of the house and before worshipping gods.  Especially one should wear khadau made up from wood before taking food and after it.  Benefits-it is batter in foot disease good for eyes and age.
  • 24. Nidra  Except summer season one should sleep about 6-8 hours.  In summer one should sleep 1-2 hours in a day.  One should not sleep in day time and always sleep in only night time.  Sleeping provide energy and removes physical and mental tiredness and essential for health.
