132 million girls between the ages of 6 and 17 were
out of school in 2016,
15 million girls of primary school-age will never have
the opportunity to learn to read, write and count,
against approximately 10 million boys,
33% of girls do not complete primary education in
sub-Saharan Africa, compared to 29% for boys. In
addition, the poorest girls face the most barriers and
it gets worse at every level.
