Time is Precious
"Value your time. It is all you have.
It is more important than your money.
It is more important than your friends.
It is more important than anything.
Your time is all you have.
Do not waste your time."
Time management is the process of planning and
conscious control of time spent on specific activities,
especially to increase effectiveness, efficiency and
productivity.
Successful persons “know the value of time”.
Instead of wasting time, they use it for their
betterment.
Time Management
What you learnt from this?
Put the Big Rocks in First
The small sized rocks are the important things –
your physical and mental health, your family, your
parents, life partner and children – anything that is so
important to you that if it were lost, it will make a big
impact on your life and you would be nearly destroyed.
What you learnt from this?
Then put the gravels, and then sand…
The gravels are the other things in life that matter
but lesser than the above ones. The gravels represent
things like your career, job, house, friends, car, social
connections and so on.
The sand is everything else, the other “small stuff”
in life.
What if you put sand or pebbles in First?
If you put the sand or the pebbles into the jar first, then
there is no room for the rocks. That’s why, the point is – “Put the
Big Rocks in First”.
The same goes for your life. If you spend all your energy and
time on the lesser important, small stuff and materialistic things,
you will never have space for the things that are truly most
important. So, pay attention to the things that are Important in
your life and spend time on those Important tasks.
First, we all need to manage our Jar of time and put the big
rocks (important and top priority tasks) first. Prioritizing will help
us to decide which task is to be done first and which one later.
If you don’t learn to properly Manage your Time in
Life, then this will lead to :
1) Procrastination
2) Inefficient workflow
3) Lower grades
4) Low self-esteem
5) Failure to achieve Goals
6) Stress in Life
If you don’t manage time properly…
Student performance is not one person's endeavour; it is
a two-team effort. A formal team is comprised of a student, a
teacher and the parents, and an informal team is comprised of
the student's peers and the environment.
Yerkes-Dodson principle is the theory that some stress
(eustress) is necessary for health and performance but that
beyond an optimal amount both will deteriorate as stress
increases.
In homes / colleges, Students undertake many
responsibilities in addition to learning / studying.
With increasing number of roles that teachers,
parents, society and industries demand from students, it is no
wonder that students’ stress levels are on steady increase.
