  6. 6. slidesmania.com Notes HAJJ Farziat–e-Hajj Hajj-e-Mabroor Warning Umrah & Hajj Hajj-e-Badal Act of performing compulsory obligation of Hajj on the behalf of someone else 1. One can perform Hajj-e-Badal, if he/she has already performed his/her own Hajj 2. The Niyyah (intention) of hajj should be made on behalf of Aamir while wearing Ihram 3. Hajj-e-Badal can be performed by one Muslim person (Mamur) only for another single Muslim person (Aamir), like Heir for inherited, etc. 4. Hajj-e-Badal shall be started from the country of Aamir 5. For whom Hajj-e-Badal is to be performed, Hajj on that person (Aamir) should be Fard 6. Hajj-e-Badal can only be performed by the order of and at the expenses of Aamir. Signs of Accepted Hajj The Pilgrim Must 1. Make tawa for all his sin by ……..heart 2. The pilgrim must perform the acts of Hajj perfectly according to Sunnah 3. Avoid keenly the prohibited acts completely 4. Avoid hypocrisy & show off 5. Bear Hajj expenses from Halal Income If the Pilgrim`s inhabitance on din improve after Hajj, then his/her Hajj is “ Hajj-e-Mabroor” If an affluent does not perform Hajj, there is a threat for him Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) says “Whoever has the provisions and the means to convey him to Allah’s House and he does not perform Hajj, then it does not matter if he dies as a Jew or a Christian. That is, he/she has no relation with Islam Umrah: Minor Hajj Hajj: Major Hajj Pre-requisites of Hajj - One must be: i. Muslim, Sane, Adult, and Independent ii. Financially & Physically sound and free from Financial obligations iii. Enough provision for the journey iv. With savings to support the living cost of the family members left behind with safety - There should not be the ..Government restrictions - Women can perform with her ..Mahram or in the group after 45 Sahib-e-Istitaa`at: Hajj is compulsory to each of the individual Muslim who owns istita'ah (ability). The pilgrim must have sufficient supplies for himself as well as for his family that he leaves behind. Every Muslim who has achieved the requirements must prepare themselves to perform Hajj. The pilgrim must write bequest as per Sunnah, must forgive the others and must ask others to forgive him/her. Moreover, the pilgrim should not be under debt. . Dr. Moeen ud Din Hajj is the 5th Piller of Islam. It is fard on Affluent (Saahib-e-Istetaa`at) person once in the life Hajj is “Jame-ul-Ibaa`adaat” i.e., combination of all the Arakeen-e-Din. It contain different types of all the Ibaa`adat. e.g., Auraad, Waza`if, prayers, effort like Fasting, spending money and wealth, etc. 6

Medical Certificate Deposit the fixed amount of money in advance in nominated bank along with the application for performing Hajj within due date Pilgrims get their Passport, Visa, and Air Tickets, etc. 2- or 3-days before departure from Madinat-ul-Hijjaj (Haji Camp) Medicines with the Doctor`s prescription HAJJ Without reporting the office of Madinat-ul-Hijjaj (Haji Camp) and attending the Hajj Training Session, the Pilgrim is not permitted to fly Pilgrims should acquire the negative PCR Test report of their Corona Virus from the government authorized laboratories before 72-hours of their flight Get vaccination certificate of Meningitis and Flue from Madinat-ul-Hujjaj (Haji Camp) The Ministry of Religious Affairs inform normally after 15-days of the closing date Successful persons deposit Readable International Passport, Biometric Report, Copy of CNIC, with the expenses of Hajj within 7-days in the relevant bank Ministry of Religious Affair inform the pilgrim about his/her Maktab No., Building No., Flight No., Departure and Return Dates, etc. 2. Tent Card & Sacrificing Animal Coupon Pilgrim`s temporary ID Card issued by the Saudi Hajj Managing Authority to put around the neck Maktab Card contains detail like Group No., Maktab No., Flight No. with departure & Return Dates, Building No., Room No., Hotel Address, etc. Card for stay in Madinah Munawwarah (This card shows the name and address of Hotel) Tent Card for having stay in Mina (This card shows Tent No., Road (Street) No., Maktab No., etc.) HAJJ Food Card & Dry Food Slips books Pilgrims can easily get food through these slips from their hotel Coupon (Voucher) for Sacrificing the animal at Mina shows Agents Slaughter-House No., Cost of Coupon, etc. (This coupon is provided by Hajj Managing Team in Hotel before departure to Mina) Wrist Band for availing free train facility (for travelling between Mina & Arafaat) A wrist band containing information (In case the Pilgrim miss the place, Hajj Managing team easily get him/her to his hotel or residence) Dr. Moeen ud Din Save all your original documents along with a set of photocopies and 3-Pics in a plastic file bag and save their pics in the gallery of your cellphone also. 8
  9. 9. slidesmania.com Hajj is fard on wealthy women but with her real Mahram A widow is not allowed to embark on Hajj in the period of Iddah A woman in the state of menses can assume Ihram after taking a bath, forming intention for Hajj and reciting Talbiyah, but not offering two raka’t nafl for Ihram. Women can perform all the acts of Hajj other than Tawaf and Tawaf al-Wida For a better understanding of the matter, please consult the scholar A woman can not perform Hajj without prior permission from her husband Saudi Government permits a woman above 45 for Hajj but with organized group of fellow pilgrims and NOC from her mahram. I make the intention of Umrah, make it easy for me and accept it from me. Help me in performing it and make it blessed for me.   16. 16. slidesmania.com ‫۔‬ Hajj al-Tamattu HAJJ Hajj al-Qiraan Hajj al-Ifrad Forms of Hajj Hajj al-Tamattu Pilgrims assumes Ihram for performing umrah only during Hajj months. when they reach Makkah, they perform Tawaf and Saa`ee for ‘Umrah. They perform Halq or Qasr. On 8th Dhul Hijjah (the day of Tarwiyah), the pilgrims assume Ihram again, but for Hajj only and carry out all the requirements of Hajj. Hajj al- Qiraan Pilgrims assumes Ihram for both umrah and hajj or first for umrah, then makes intention for Hajj before the Tawaf for Hajj. The obligations on Qarin are same as on Ifrad, except that it is compulsory for Qarin to sacrifice an animal while Ifrad are not obligated to perform so. Hajj al-Ifrad Pilgrims assumes Ihram for Hajj only. When they reach Makkah, they perform tawaf for their arrival and saa`ee for Hajj. They don’t perform Halq or Qasr, because they do not disengage from the Ihram. Rather, they remain in the state of Ihram till after throwing stone Jamraat Al-'Aqabah on the Eid day. Recite Niyyah for Performing Hajj Ihram One of the white sheet (Izar) is wrapped around the waist, and covers the area between the navel and feet, the other sheet (Rida) is meant for upper half of the body, covering shoulders to navel. Wear sandals or slippers. Women wear scarf and gown on simple clothes but the clath should not touch the face. Declare Niyyah (Intention) of assuming Ihram and offer two Raka't Nafl In first raka`t recite Surah Al-Kafiroon and in second raka`t Surah Al-Aklas Al-kafiroon is to explicitly declare renouncement of idol-worshiping, Al-Aklas focus on tawheed (monotheism) Remove Ihram from your head Note; Don`t offer nafl in forbidden timings “O Allah! I make the intention of Hajj, make it easy for me and accept it from me. Help me in performing it and make it blessed for me. I have made the intention for Hajj and have worn its Ihram for the sake of Allah” . Dr. Moeen ud Din Cut the nails, Trim the moustache, Shave hair of the armpits, remove pubic hair, Have a bath (Ghusl) with non-perfumed soap or just perform Wudu (ablution) Do tawbah (Repentance) 19

Forbidden Acts Ihram Men are required to recite the Talbiyah (3 times) loud, whereas women say it with low voice [Often repeat Talbiyah in the state of Ihram] O Allah! Bestow your favor on Muhammad and on the family of Muhammad, as you have bestowed Your favor on Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim, You are Praiseworthy, Most Glorious. O Allah! Bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as you have blessed Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim, You are Praiseworthy, Most Glorious. O Allah! I am performing the Hajj in which there is neither any hypocrisy nor the element of achieving any fame Dr. Moeen ud Din O Allah! I ask of your pleasure and for paradise, and I seek refuge from your displeasure and from the Hellfire After declaring Niyyah and reciting Talbiyah, ihram`s limitations starts (Restrictions can not be started after just wearing the Ihram) Find all the forbidden acts/things on next slide 20
  21. 21. slidesmania.com HAJJ Things/Acts Forbidden in the state of Ihram Prohibitions Use of perfume/henna/hair color/ perfumed soap etc. Removing hairs, or cutting nails or anything from skin Hunting desert animals / Cutting trees / picking the things of others Physical relationship (intercourse with wife) / touching, kissing, or looking spouse with sexual desire) Talking during Tawaf or Saa`ee / using mobile phone Wearing stitched clothes or covering head by men / Wearing face veil , gloves, or doing make-up by women Performing Nikkah (marriage) / Proposing for Nikkah Wearing shoes covering All top of the foot by men Fighting / Disputing / using Narcotics / carrying weapons, etc. Abhorrents Combing or brushing of hairs Pinning or Threading the Ihram Using mobile / making selfies in the state of Ihram Respect the Holy Place, keep your mobile in salient mode while you are in Ihram`s state . Dr. Moeen ud Din 21 Note: consult scholars on doubtful matters Ihram is to declare a lawful things as Haram (unlawful) on oneself. After pronouncing niyyah and talbiyah by the pilgrim, certain permissible things becomes prohibited If a pilgrim perform any prohibitive act (knowingly or unknowingly), he/she must pay a penalty (Dumm), i.e., must sacrifice a goat/lamb, or must give one time food to six poor persons (Masaakin) in Makkah city, or must fast for three days
  22. 22. slidesmania.com HAJJ Things/Acts allowed in the state of Ihram Washing Ihram/ Changing Ihram Taking bath (Ghusl) without rubbing of dirt from body Wearing extra sheet on Ihram (keeping head, face, feet open by men) Women may take contraceptive pills to prevent from menstruating during Umrah period in order to be able to perform Tawaf-e-Kabah Holding Wife`s hand in the state of Ihram Wearing ring, belt, glasses, and use of umbrella, etc. Use of non-perfumed handkerchief, tasbeeh (counter), etc. Use of routine medicines, bandage, plastering the bones, etc. Killing the insects, Hunting the see animals Sleeping during the state of Ihram (Clath should not touch the face) Eating routine`s Halal Food Wearing mask on one-fourth face with breaks, if unavoidable Wearing socks which keep top and below heel part of the feet open Use of wheelchair, if unavoidable (It is better to perform tawaf and saa`ee on foot) Doing Miswak / Using non-perfumed kajal ‫۔‬ Dr. Moeen ud Din 22 Note: consult scholars on doubtful matters

Masjid Mashar al-Haram is a mosque situated in Muzdalifah which marks the area where the Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) supplicated during his Farewell Pilgrimage. pilgrims collect (49 or 70) pebbles from Muzdalifah to throw them at the three pillars representing the marked places of devil at Mina.
